- This number sense routine, Fill the Grid, is a great one to get students thinking flexibly about numbers and brainstorming how many different ways they can make a number. This number sense activity can be done whole group, in a small group, or independently as a math warm-up! This is video #3 in my Number Sense Routines series, so be sure to check out the other videos below as well:

Great 💡 idea with fill the grid!!
So cool as an informal assessment!
Thank you!!! Very helpful!
Thanks Susan! I'll be adding this to math talk routine.
I think it would be good to add a step of sharing in partners before whole group *if time allows*...This would allow for an additional opportunity for sharing math strategies or thoughts.
Love this idea! I agree that would be a great way for them to share their ideas and thoughts first. Thank you for sharing!
Thank You!
Too gud. I would definitely use this in my class as I teach grade 2
Great exercise. Thanks for sharing.
Love this video on building number sense for kinder, 1st and 2nd. Is the "Fill the Grid" form that you show available anywhere?
I love this video!! Practicing in Brasil 🇧🇷 at home is realy possible 🤗 Thanks Susan
Aloha! LOVE all of your videos, as always. Do you have a copy of the "fill the grid" worksheet? I tried looking on your TPT but was unable to find.
It is available as part of the SJT math club. :)
@@fancyflamingo123 Oh okay! Not a part of it yet but on the waiting list. Thank you!
