I loved that, I'm mostly a lake fisherman from Belfast and have had success near Shaws bridge, love to get into rivers a lot more, especially for the dries or New Zealand style. Would you suggest joining a club to learn the ropes on the rivers or would you say id be better off just going it alone with a ministry licence? Cheers Chris.
Hi Guys, I just started watching your channel and subscribed today. What a great film this is, well done. It's great to see the fish rise and take your fly as well as the fight and the all important release. May I ask what rod length and line weight your on? Your getting great sport on your light gear. Keep up the great videos, kind regards from Scotland, Ewan. Super! 👍
Hello Ewan. Thanks for the good feedback. Yeah these fish were at their peak condition in this video. This is my local river and I have to say pound for pound these fish were the strongest I have caught all year. I was using a Orvis Access 8 foot with the 4wt line.
@@troutfishingni6261 Your welcome! Ah 4wt, cheers. I go to Ireland for a few weeks every "normal" year fishing. Usually to the Loughs on the west but i may try some of the rivers in the North next year. Cheers Ewan.
@@ewanmacgregor3056 Yes the loughs seem to be a big attraction.. corrib and melvin especially for the mayfly produce fish of lifetimes. I personally prefer the river fishing and there is so many rivers to choose from.
Orvis access 8"4 rods. I am using a nautilus reel and mark is using an orvis reel of some sort. Stroft leader and can't remember what lines we were using at the time.
