I think it is an awesome radio. I have one in my pick up with a striker SRA-10 Trucker mount antenna and I was able to make clear contact from Braxton County West Virginia to Puerto Rico on AM
Hi Rooster , with the amp section on I dead key 15 and swing up 650 and on ssb I asked my tech to lower ssb to 400 peak and it talks smoothly. My tech Chris designed the amp inside this radio works great. Thanks for your videos always great content.
I talk to Europe, South Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii and all over Canada with the ssb. Actually hit Hawaii from Georgia on ch28 am. My furthest TX was about 8000 miles. Nice radio. Fairly clear. A/B biased, Chris said, for ssb.

Something else to talk about - AVERAGE power watt meters LOVE distortion. It fills the gaps between the PEAKS, and gives you those feel good watts and feel good average swing... But that distortion doesn't help you. So be mindful of this in your situation. That radio is a beast but it is NOT a clean beast. So it WILL read HIGHER watts in average power readings. 73
Do you own a virtual/telepathic oscilloscope? If so I'd love to purchase one 🤣🤣🤣. You know? One of those Ole Silly Scopes that can tell how dirty a radio is just from a video.

I wish the review explained in more simplistic terms. Im not concerned with watts and power etc. 10 meter, Ok. What is ABCDEFG bands. CB is 11 meter. I see AM LSB USB on the dial like CB. Can one communicate with someone using a $40 Walmart Uniden CB with the Longhorn or not? Does the Longhorn require a license to operate? Is this actually a Ham radio or both Ham and normal CB?
I did forget to turn the radio on lower power. It will do 100-120 watts peak with the amp section off.
