    We have a device that was in family link but we don't want it to be any more, nor do we want to factory reset it. Is there a way to just stop the parental supervision of the decixe without deleting accounts etc?

      Hi Tim, did you follow the steps I showed in the video because this was the exact scenario I covered?

    Hello Bud: I downloaded family link on my Samsung phone S20 and went to setting - parental control - followed steps so that my secondary phone S10e can be setup as child phone even though its my phone. The purpose was for location sharing. However, its too complicated and Samsung find my phone is very easy. So I went to my S20 and selected stop supervising and uninstalled app. But I don't know what is going on with my spare S10e. I am not able to delete the family link app. Also when I swipe down from home screen it says "This Device is managed by your Parent" and a kite logo. I spent so many hours to remove this stupid app. But its not working out. On my spare phone I had two google account and one which was taking all contact was automatically removed and i can no longer add that google account back. Any idea?

      Hi Sam, sounds like a nightmare but I think the solution is to set your "child's" age on the S10e to over 13 (from the S20) and then via the S10e you should be able to select the "cancel supervision" option in the Family Link app. Let me know if it works.

      I have the same issue with my child's phone. I can't remove the parental control app on his phone even though i already stopped the supervision on my phone. How to fix this?

    Completing the steps exactly as is in the video removed the entire account and all tablets under the account from Family Link.

    Plug your device into your PC and do a factory reset It will remove the family link

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with doing that is that you will still have a Family Link account logged against that device (because it hasn't seen you actively remove it) and you will never be able to get rid of it because you have reset the device that's associated with it. That's fine if you aren't going to use Family Link ever again, but annoying if you are.

    turn of your device, press up volume + power until recovery menu apears, move through until you find factory reset.

      Thanks for the tip. Will likely require the parent to then log in via a PC to logout of the child's session as covered in the later part of my video.

    How do I remove off child's device?? My sister set it up and lost the device it was connected to.

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  ปีที่แล้ว

      Without the device to hand I don't think there's a way you can do it. If you find out that you can, do let me know and good luck.

    Does it delete the Google account or does it just remove it

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't delete the child's Google account (you can still access it via a PC for example) but it does delete all account information from the specific device.

    Hi, i have a question.
    Is there a way to unsupervise a tablet, i delete the account in the family link. Or how csn i restore the account. Thank you.

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there, your question isn't clear but I think you are asking can you unsupervise the tablet without deleting the Google account. The way to do this is to change the age of the child so that they appear to be over 13. Once done there is then an option to "Stop Supervision" which does what it says but the Google account still remains.

    How do I remove the family link app from an old Samsung phone even if my family got rid of their own Samsung phones??

    • @MostlyHelpful
      @MostlyHelpful  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As I recall you need to deactivate your Google account from that phone. Login to your Google account and it will show you the devices and delete the one that you no longer have.
