Songs like these are always nice to come back to as a man now. I didn’t have many troubles as a kid when I first heard this, and it’s nice to hear lyrics like this that hit much harder now than they did then
When I was developing a certain character for a D&D game lets say he has had a damn tough life. He soon has reconnected with his ex fiancé, and if the dm allows hum to retire this song will be verry poignant for the character. Of him finally being able to put down the sword and spend the rest of his days with those he loves, sure it may be hard for him to acclimate to a life of peace but I believe he can do it and deserves it. So this entire song in my mind is his lover tell him he's going to be ok and just to rest and do what he finally do what he wants. spend the rest of his days with her.

This song reminds me of my mom, about 5 years ago she had a really bad stroke. Years before this my dad had left us and I remember her holding me on the bus and she'd play this song on her ipod. I am almost 20 years old now and I am helping her recover from her stroke, this song gives me such powerful emotions.

This song reminds me of my mom because she sang this to me as a child. She passed away when I was 14 and I just came to listen to this song since my boyfriend sent me this link without even knowing the story. All of this to say that I was already crying while listening then I read this comment. Im not sure if you are religious and if not I hope you don't take offense to this but I prayed over you and your daughter. I pray that you get your miracle. She is such a lucky girl to have a father like you.

When i was in 1st grade, My teacher made a disk of everything we did that year, she used this song and gave everyone copies. She passed away a few years ago due to a brain tumor. I just came back from a summer camp (there for 3 weeks) and Ive been struggling with accepting my trauma for 6-7 years now. Its a christian camp and it’s literally my favorite place on Earth. One of my counselors let me talk to him about it, it was about a 3-5 minute talk, very short. But in the next 5 days after that I finally accepted my trauma. He said exactly what I needed to hear and I couldn’t be more thankful. He literally changed my life forever. This song reminds me of him, he makes sure everyone is taking care of themselves and having a good time. I really needed him in my life and I’m so excited to see him next summer! ❤️

My comfort song
Through the ages 3-5, me and my parents along with my grandparents would go on several road trips every year. We would go to Disney, the beach, Nashville, and many other places. We played this song on repeat on every trip we went on. I am now going on 16 and my grandma passed about 7 months ago. This song is very nostalgic to listen to. It also brings sadness knowing I’ll never get to experience those memories again with my grandma. This song is such a great one to listen to when you’re sad or happy. RIP 🕊️
