Gatherer Challenge! The Art of Letting Your Instincts Guide Your Landscape And Nature Photography

For the second challenge, we move into Gatherer mode. You will be walking through a landscape of your choosing with no expectations or intentions. The aim is to get back into that mindset of when you first get a camera and everything is exciting to photograph. Initially, you may do just that, photograph everything that catches your eye without worrying about the quality of the shot. After time you can become more mindful, visually exploring your scene before taking the image. Try different angles and consider what it is that draws your eye? Is it the composition, the way the light falls, the colour contrast, or the texture? The intention behind these challenges isn't to dictate that all your photography should fall into these two categories from now on. Rather, these artist processes are open to you and by discovering what inspires you it is possible to both plan your shots and be open to opportunities that enable your visual voice. Have fun!
