  • It's been since 1973 since I set foot inside Williams Grove Speedway, but that all changed when I revisited the historic half-mile dirt track for the recent World of Outlaws Summer Nationals. I not only reconnected with my youth but I had great conversations with Eldora Million champion Logan Schuchart, Gio Scelzi, Donny Schatz, Brad Sweet and David Gravel. It was also interesting to hear from the local heroes...Lance Dewease, Freddie Rahmer and his dad Fred Rahmer. I even sneaked in an interview with "Ole Scruffy" Bobby Allen. Join me, the History Mystery Man, for another dirt track adventure with the World of Outlaws, this time at legendary Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania...and thanks for your support! #WilliamsGrove #LoganSchuchart #BobbyAllen #GioScelzi #BradSweet #DavidGravel #LanceDewease #FreddieRahmer #WorldOfOutlaws #DirtTrackRacing #SprintCars #Gettysburg

Great video Don! Williams Grove is the Granddaddy of dirt tracks in the East! I appreciate you got the Rahmers, Lance, and Old Scruffy in this video. Scruffy stories abound in these parts! Not many people know how smart Bobby Allen is. The man is an amazing mechanic! Speaking of which, thanks too for showing Kreitz Racing’s 90 year old engine builder Davey Brown, Sr. He too is a legend in Pennsylvania.
Next time you’re in the area, do visit the Eastern Motor Racing Museum near the track. The curator, Lynn Paxton, is a man you need to get on video. Lynn was a great sprint car driver, and the museum has cars that Mario, AJ, and many other greats have driven.
Thanks again! Great work, as usual.
PS - Since this video was filmed, Lance Dewease was let go by Kreitz Racing. Lance is already running for another team.

Thanks Edward...greatly appreciated. Love your idea on the Eastern Motor Racing Museum and an interview with Lynn Paxton...that would be worth a return trip to PA yet this year...and I'd get to go back to Gettysburg, which is one of my all-time favorite places. Lance is a legend...HMM

Hello Don. There is something special for how you create these sprint car videos. They are so close to how I feel when I'm there in person. I've never attended a race in PA. Only OH. Trust me, it's on my radar to get over to the Grove, Port, Lincoln, etc. etc. Was really cool you could revisit this place after so many years. What a fine collection of driver interviews. I always pick up more of their personalities from your productions. I'm anxiously awaiting for my favorite race weekend......4-Crown at Eldora. A way for me to see all the series, types of sprints in one shot. Thanks for this video. I enjoyed ever single second of it!!
