practice on vinyl if you can. research "4 on the floor", learn the songs lengths of breaks, chorus, melodies etc. Practice 8/16/32/64/128 beat intro and chorus mixing. Good Luck ♥ djDD
You have the best instruction of matching by ear. Was abl nto loop a single drum beat on Cross DJ installed on my Note 9. This is great practice for someone new like me. 👍👊
I just got a DDJ SB3 and love your videos and I may join your lessons. I feel like if I start doing this right away its gonna spoil my fun . How long would you suggest I play around with these things before i try beat match by ear?
So I made my own drum beat. And I was playing music from my Spotify on my phone and playing my drum beat through the computer on DJUICED. I got a few songs perfect. My question is how do I make a drum beat that has a 140 BPM Or 160 BPM because you can only tempo up or down so much. My current drum beat is standard at 118 and max is 133 low I believe is 104.
Hey, I have a question . How come you aren't using the turntables with the tempo notch? That's the only type of beat, arching I've ever done/seen on TH-cam . Is this an easier version to beatmatch or simply just another way?
I have a problem on serato DJ. After I finish my beat match, sometimes the beats slide off each other with no fault of my own. The two songs have the same BPM but for some reason, one goes "faster" then the other and the beats are not matching anymore. Does someone knows how to fix this problem?
At what point do you redo the tempo of the new song? Some songs can sound like shit if you speed up or slow down too much just to match Track A. What's your guideline for how close in BPM to play songs?
What are you using CD/MP3s or vinyl? Most digital decks have a master tempo button which stops the key of the record changing. If you're mixing vinyl you can't do much about it you either have to just cut between the two records quickly and change the BPM of the whole set or choose a different record that suits the speed better.
Mac Joseph Also way beyond just beats and key ;) Dj’ing would not be impressive anymore if it was just about beats and key. There’s so many skills a dj must develop in order to become a really good one. Besides, remember this video is only about the skill of beatmatching. Mentioning the importance of mixing in key is quite irrelevant here. But you’re right, though!
fake dj fake dj.. try beatmatching with your ears using two turntables with vinyl.. then once you master that you might have a chance of becoming a real dj!!!!!!!!!!!

the best way to beat mix is by ear even though you have something like serato try and always use ear matching so much more acurate
Wow!! This is a good way to practice beatmatching when you don't have a pair of turntables.
Thanks to you , I found the confidence within me to pick up my first DJ controller. I got the DDJ RB. 🤙
Never seen Before Videos how’s it going man? I’ve had my first controller a year also and I feel like I’ve still got a lot to learn!
This is amazing, best I have found about beatmatching by ear. Love it!
Very useful and good teaching
I have no problem with matching the beat but the tempo is pretty hard to figure out
Nice work bro and thank you
It’s true Sync button doesn’t always sync properly so good to learn this.
Plus no sync on club Cdj's
@@Tiogar60 lol what clubs are you playing at. Any Pioneer CDJ-2000nxs or nx2 has sync. and many many others.
Wow so much more understanding now

Hey, on my decks, this is the only way to do it :)

did you solve this? Having the exact same problem
So there are dj’s that can’t even beat match at all? Never had to use turntables only?

Plus key is important. Music is beyond just beats.
