The only way is to dispose off the garbage, as often as you can, and clean the garbage bin. Unclean garbage bins can attract rats, ants, lizards, cockroaches and flies. In the olden days wet garbage was buried, dry garbage was burnt at the back of the houses. This kept the compound and houses clean. The soot from the burnt garbage and decomposed buried garbage are mixed with earth and used as fertilizers for plants. A very healthy way of living in those days. And don't buy unless necessary, always research the product you're going to buy, that's what I always do, and most of time I buy local brands and products only, rarely foreign. Just know what you're consuming.
