      The wife seems to be someone who demands the “best” while contributing nowhere near what’s needed for that “best”. IMO the husband should set up a personal savings account he’s the only one with access. The wife should do the same. This way they’d agree they can use that money for whatever they want to. I’d be concerned the wife could potentially use the joint savings to purchase a house OP would have no knowledge of.

    • @Nyghtking
      @Nyghtking 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say he is for two reasons, first a person should be comfortable in their own home, she obviously isn't, and while it's not a great reason it is a reason, and second when it came to the money, it was both of theirs, but the moment his friend asked for some it stopped being their and became "his" and "hers" and he brought up how much more he makes then she does, thats not great either because thats not a couple working as a unified front, thats a dude keeping score and feeling that since he makes more he should be able to do this because of the amount he put in, despite the savings being meant for both of them.

    Last story - NTA. Wife sounds like she married up and maybe came from a background where she was financially insecure. Now that she's got a husband with money, she wants to stack savings and wants a new house most likely because she always dreamt of one. Husband makes more than enough money to help friend out but shes stuck on her goal of getting a new house. I see no issue when husband is main contributor and there were no other plans to use the money, even if the wife is dreaming of a shiny new house. They have a nice house already - be happy for what you have.

    *Trust no one, live longer.*
    Separate savings, separate checking accounts will pay off in the long run. Contribute proportionately to the bills, from separate accounts. You will have a happier marriage because of this. Story 1: Again..... "Right To Refuse Service!". I get that fees can suck on things like insurance and other things, but this Karen is just complaining just to heard words come out of her mouth. If she wants to cancel so badly, just let her cancel and drop her as a customer. You definitely do not want somebody like this as a client. This is just plain harassment, nothing else. Also, i extremely doubt that this woman was ever in any kind of customer service or quality control if she acted like this.
    Story 2: Not getting paid? Call both the labour board and the taxman, you'll get paid then! Not sure what kind of laws they have in India though, but im sure they have some tax agency that'll go after them there. This job sounds like an absolute pain, especially the senior workers there that didn't seem to do anything and put things all on the OP. Hopefully the OP is doing better at a new job.
    Story 3: No way is the OP a jerk here. I get that a convo about all this would've been better, but the OP contributes way more to the account and household. It seems that he can trust this person he loaned the money, though it shouldn't be as big a deal. I think the OP's wife is a major drama queen here. She feels old? At 29?? Just because there are old people around??? Thats just dumb. The wife seems like a major drama queen here and i think that she is the toxic one here, and not the OP.

    Last story: do they have a prenup and is that house in that prenup and she can't get her hands in it? If that is so, well, now we know why she wants a new house. And that money, most of it was putt in that account by op, so why is she so upset, does she see that money as hers. Is she going to leave op at that very moment when they have that new house, house that will be now hers. The last story, OP states that: _”…I didn’t have that much on me, so…”_ - how much are much are we talking about here? There is usually a standard day-to-day amount of money one keeps on themselves, usually, $100 or less since most people are opting for digital transactions. Now if he loaning money to a trusted friend I can only see this as a max $500 without contractual obligations. This transaction didn’t imply that the loan was for several thousand dollars, which would be a reasonable reaction from the wife. But this woman clearly doesn’t understand the gem of a property she has the pleasure to be living on: 15 minutes from downtown an entertainment, low crime, and established and friendly neighbors. B!tch are you crazy?😂

    The last story: I'm going to have to disagree. The wife sounds extremely spoiled and believes that she isn't experiencing the life she thinks she is entitled to. The only thing I think he did wrong was taking money out of their joint savings account and loaning it to a friend. She has every right to be upset about that. Acting like she'll never see the money again and never get her dream house seems like a huge overreaction on her part. So OP doesn't want to move right now. Okay, maybe he wants to wait until the kids are a little older and then maybe he'll consider moving, but I don't really see anything wrong with living around a bunch of retirees. It sounds a lot safer than living in a suburban or more urban area where there's a lot of crime. In my opinion, the wife needs to get over it and think about what's best for the family unit instead of what she wants.

    I’m going to say the last guy isn’t a jerk, but honestly I’m not surprised. Maybe it’s just me, but whenever there is a situation like that, he literally always says they’re a jerk for doing anything like that to be honest. Most guys he says are toxic and shitty for doing things “without telling/asking their wives”, honestly aren’t usually even the asshole. I’m more inclined to believe this TH-camr specifically just has heavy extreme biases. Contrary to his belief though, even when married, you still are 2 separate people who don’t have to inform each other of every single thing you do.
    Yea, OP took money from their savings, but he also put more in, has known this friend since school, and from the sounds of it, is really close with the friend’s family as well. It seems to me like you’re just incredibly quick to completely disregard anyone’s other relationships when it comes to their romantic relationship, and honestly that’s kinda toxic to your friends and family.
    Yea, you gotta consider your SO when making big decisions, but literally almost anytime there’s a situation with someone asking if they are the asshole for going against their wife, regardless of the reasons or circumstances, you say they’re the asshole. Maybe I’m the only one who thinks this, but it’s lowkey starting to get problematic for me. (Yes, I know I can stop watching at anytime, and when I get annoyed, I do.)

    the last person in the the last story is not the jerk. she’s insecure about living around old people..? that’s weird he doesn’t want to move he obviously feels safer there and she wants to move only because she feels old? and dude sorry but you gotta lay off the word toxic it’s not the word to be used for every story 😊

    Naah narrator, you're full of it on that last story, no way in hell is op the AH. If the roles were reversed you would still probably still have sided with the wife

    Yeah.i'm calling cap on that last one. The questions that needs to be asked first is. How much money was goven? And how much did they have saved up.
    Cause if they had to gove away like 500 out of like 5000. The that is not that bad still.
    So. Sorry narrator. But YOU. Are the jerk.
