Sarah McLachlan sounds incredible. But I came here for Nelly Furtado, and unfortunately, Nelly’s mic is too quiet when singing together. And btw, when got to Furtado’s verse, I nearly cried. This is the greatest artistic growth I’ve ever seen in an artist. This is a beautiful show though.
Nelly's mic is not low, she just decided to sing backing vocals to Sarah's lead vocals. She's singing one-octave below, complementing nicely the main vocal. So much so that she can be heard loud and clear during her solo. Sarah's way of singing is very expressive and unique, difficult to emulate/imitate. If they haven't had time to rehearse properly before this, it might have backfired uglily if Nelly had tried to freestyle on top of what Sarah is doing here. I'm glad she just decided to complement the beautiful melody. BTW, I have been a fan of both of them since forever (I've been a Sarah fan for longer simply because she has been putting music out longer than Nelly has, since the 80s). It's a dream to see them perform together.
@@Nerrian you’ve got a good point. I wouldn’t want Nelly to freestyle and play around with her voice and overshadow Sarah’s nice singing. I get it. So now understanding what Nelly was trying to do made me love this performance even more. ❤️ Humble artists are the best artists.
@@Nerrianabsolutely beautiful hey. No one has a voice like Sarah, and also following both through their careers - how lucky are we to have these voices for our generation?! And to watch this from Australia on a phone!! 💜💜💜
Lyrics Spend all your time waiting For that second chance For a break that would make it okay There's always some reason To feel not good enough And it's hard at the end of the day I need some distraction Oh a beautiful release Memories seep from my veins Let me be empty Oh and weightless and maybe I'll find some peace tonight In the arms of the angel Fly away from here From this dark cold hotel room And the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage Of your silent reverie You're in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort here So tired of the straight line And everywhere you turn There's vultures and thieves at your back And the storm keeps on twisting You keep on building the lies That you make up for all that you lack It don't make no difference Escaping one last time It's easier to believe In this sweet madness Oh this glorious sadness That brings me to my knees In the arms of the angel Fly away from here From this dark cold hotel room And the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage Of your silent reverie You're in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort here You're in the arms of the angel May you find some comfort here I got to sing along ❤🎉 Just Beautiful Ladies 😊
I loved this. Way to go Sarah.. you have lost a beat!!! Now riddle me this Batman... is that Lights in the shot at 5:25?? Also the girl with the phone .. looks like Jessie.. Kelly Clarkson's backup singer in her band? It's late .. and maybe I'm completely wrong on both accounts. 🥱🤔🤣
I watched live without believing what my eyes were seeing! Nelly Furtado is in her most beautiful artistic phase, of recognition and maturity!❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤😂Danke für die Performance ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
Two of the all time great singer songwriters.
We have a lot of classy ladies with so much talent here in Canada. Proud of em all!
Sarah's management team made my daughters 19th birthday come through by gifting her tix to Lilith Fair at Thunderbird stadium in Vancouver circa 1999.
My Irish came through with reading the 'through' as 'true' with this comment.
J’adore 🧡

Lyrics
Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There's always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty
Oh and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here
So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting
You keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference
Escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness
Oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees
In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here
I got to sing along ❤🎉
Just Beautiful Ladies 😊
Nelly por favor me nota eu te amo vc e a melhor❤❤❤❤❤
🙏✝️Peace✝️🙏
Nice gams on Sarah. Damn.
ти❤прекрасна❤
Must be on Spotify
Now listen to Sarah's duet with Pink on this song :)
Sarah sounds exactly the way she did 25 years ago.
Thick Curvy Nelly 😊
You can barely hear Nelly on the harmonies.
Yeah, she seems to be signalling for her volume to be increased...
nelly should have sung more
Sorry Nelly this ain't for you at all
