@@wildheartwanders Same, ha! I thot, This cute energetic so-&-so really nailed his part -- he's someone to track in the future. And also watching 14-15yo Reese W. in "Wildflower." Young and innately talented.
I love Vanessa Kirby. She is an amazing actor. I love her sensibility and how she really took in all the experiences and make sense of everything. I can tell that she is so into this film on and off screen. Same thing with Katherine, she is so passionate and really nibbling every part of the whole experience. Excited to watch the film.
I love what Katherine said, the world was not ready for her language in 1856, until she met Tally. And those words will live forever in who I am. We are cruising in a timeless loop looking for growth that only another whose perceptions is open can reflect back. It is 2022 and you can still feel isolated because you might not find someone who can perceive your language, and the freedom to really express the feelings and emotions of that language. It is rare to find a soul that speaks to you. It is like a whisper that no one can hear until you sit in your quietness and you realize that the whisper has been you all along. Even words fall short because it would put a limit to the omnimagnificence that we are in hiding.
The scene where Vanessa say I nv wanna be far away from you, has been the most poinant point of that movie, is so powerful despite that she is siting down, phenomenal performance
This is the best, balanced and intelligent interview, viewed. This is my thought of the movie. This film is so deeply moving. Like a wave, it drags you, sometimes in a stormily overwhelming way, other times, with gentle delicacy, from one emotion to another. Phrases full of inspiration, wisdom and passion, expressed by those who have the most difficulty expressing their feelings. Like musical notes, their story leaps from one key to another, always with intense harmony.
To me it’s a testament to the great acting of Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterson n Ben Affleck on how unspoken words can create a moving love story in times that same sex relationships did exist in the 1860s. In a time when the same sex attraction was taboo n unchartered terrority. To be loved by either sex is a beautiful thing.
Ohcome on man.. there was sculpture regarding this..hid many things from people.. attracted we are in artificial intelligence ..love has no artificial eyes.
It's refreshing to see that the women get to talk so much in this interview! This is such a female driven story, and that really shows in the interview as well
This film holds a special place in my heart. I like to think that Tallie survived, she and Abagail got divorced from their psychopathic husbands, moved to a new country and start a new life together.
It would be nice to have a woman interviewing them. because a woman understands another woman and I’m tired of seeing all these men doing the interviews no offense.
NO, absolutely NOT! The title for this interview is misleading. Waterson's interviewing skills were awful, dancing around and avoiding questions. Who wants to interview that, who wants to watch that. I actually wanted to HEAR about "creating a same-sex romance set in the late 1800's" not a "regular" interview that pretty much avoided the topic. Really enjoyed the movie by the way which is why I wanted to know the processes. They did a beautiful job. It was authentic in ways most lesbian movies are NOT. the passion was on point, Kirby did that flawlessly. From the way she came into the room that day and sat down staring at her. To her, I could care less attitutude that comes with loving another woman so much, it's dire. And some lesbians may not understand it, but,,,,my WIFE drove me crazy and I looked EXACTLY like that, couldn't help it. THAT, I loved. so thank you to everyone involved in making this movie. And Waterson, answer the questions directly, OMG - just let it be about being lesbian. I know things are changing, but sometimes it's appropriate to - just let it be about that. thank you all!!!
I’m sorry to say, but when you have such stars, especially Vanessa Kirby, who are spectacular, - and you end the film that way, you completely misunderstood your audience. Just because lesbians will watch anything, as there’s still little content, doesn’t mean they need to be abused with the same old tropes.
I agree... there was so much room to break the mould with this one! I kept dreaming of the moment they would escape together. Both being literate and skilled women they could have found survival TOGETHER in a town or a city... still it was a beautiful film. I’m just tired of the second best sapphic endings rather than the full satisfaction!
I disagree - the point of the film is to show exactly the reality of what it was like to be LGBT in that era. It's meant to be a hard film, it's meant to break you. If it had a happy ending, I don't think it would be half as powerful
Fingersmith is a film with a positive ending, being about connection and closeness, and this one is more about separation and loneliness. I really wish they could've stayed together but it honestly doesn't make sense for them to be. Maybe in a movie with a different setting, we're gonna keep waiting I guess.
Very good film. I had no idea that Casey Affleck was the catalyst for this project. Is he doing penance for his abhorrent behavior towards the women in his crew while making, "I'm Still Here"? Did these three young women know of the accusations against him (settled out of court) when they signed on? I'd like to think that they didn't.
Why does Katherine Waterston literally look flawless in any of the interviews for this film. Like her skin looks like perfection.
Totally agree 🥰
Yes! I want her so bad 😂
Jodie Comer's skin looks like that. Maybe they both use Nobel Panacea.
Right. More beautifull than in the movie
Kirbs is pretty damn perfect too...they are both so damn gorgeous in their own special way!
I came to watch Vanessa Kirby and left with a huge crush on Katherine Waterston.
Haha me too😂 Her smile❤
I can't blame youuu
Same here.
I love her (and her hairdo) in the Fantastic Beasts series.
Vanessa is going to be huge.. she is a brilliant and beautiful actress. Love her! ❤️🔥
She always seams so grateful and positive too. There’s something joyous about her...
Yes, this. I remember watching Brad Pitt in "Thelma and Louise" and thinking the same thing.

And how she created the tension around that moment... Brilliant indeed...
As if I didn't want to see this movie enough already.
I could listen to the elegance and dedication of to Fastvold, Waterston and Kirby all day. 🙏
It's crazy hearing them speak in such details of these characters. You really gotta embody and become the character in acting
I’m SO ATTRACTED TO VANESSA OMGG 😢
Vanessa Kirby omg so beautiful 😻

Not Ben affleck
Wrong Afleck. Ben's brother Casey.
Well said, Pam.

Gorgeous thinkers and communicators in this interview. And gorgeous film.
So far, this is one of the best interview I've seen for this movie 😌🙌
Came here after sobbing to the ending lol I'm not ok. Also I'm in love with Vanessa

I'm glad that Mona added that ending for those of us with fragile hearts and overactive tear glands.

Amazingly pure, intelligent and beautiful. Good luck in your career.
I love this: an articulate and spot-on interview by all involved.

She has a tendency to do that. She's done that a few times before. She almost never answers questions directly.
Katherine ❤

I know...I wanted them to realize they could plan an escape together. They could have gone to New York City! NYC in the 1850's was hopping!
