I don't know if it was wrong in the video or it was just a fluke for me, but the trilobe (three prongs) screwdriver worked best for screw 3. Like I said, either it was just for some reason working better with the trilobe, or the video has labelled it wrong as a phillips. Edit: 5 was a phillips, not trilobe for me. However, all other trilobes are indeed trilobes. I think the video got 4 and 5 the wrong way round.
Good video. Just completed my repair and typing from my replacement screen!! Hardest thing for me was getting ur screen off. Using a metal pryer helps. Although it may ding the metal casing.
The number 3 screw on it’s says it’s a Phillips but mine was the other screw driver type 4 was Phillips tho. Mine is not refurbished yet the 3 and fifth one were switched.
Juan Ramirez hey Juan, if you want you could replace just the glass, but you would be better off replacing the digitizer, lcd, and the glass. It’s a lot more easier, and less time consuming, and the end it could cost less. I’ve fixed my iPhone 6s and I had to transfer my ear speaker, home button, camera, and proximity sensors. Most companies have an option to have those pre installed for extra money. I’d suggest transferring from the damaged phone, if those parts still work.

The removal of #5 is not necessary for the screen replacement. I'm sure he removes it because less experienced weekend warriors could damage the clip while removing the screen connector bracket.

If you do it exacly as in the video, you will lose for example the True Tone function, because the display data have not been transfered to the new one. So If you are using unoriginal LCD, you have to use additional tools to transfer display data.

Well my friend dropped his iphone RX and the screen crached terrebly and the display has a lines so can he asked me can it be rapaired and how much would it be can you answer me
I would pay the 100 difference to have it fixed at apple. I know I am getting authentic and I don’t void the warranty. Once you or anyone else service an apple device apple won’t do anything further to it. They only charge 69 for replacing the battery too.
Technically speaking, I’ve fixed about 40 different iPhones (all working perfectly) and i know apple likes to charge 200-400 dollars because they will find extra “flaws” in speakers n such. Like all of us local businesses, Apple tech ppl were taught what we were taught but they are high end Gucci. Most of the time, they won’t fix it because “the back is cracked” but honestly it’s better to give it to a person you trust, most likely these phones are the easiest to fix and all of my clients have their phone on an everyday basis functioning for a fraction of the price.

where do you get that blue plastic that they use to pry off the screen in the beginning?

Didn't see the white filter strip under face id refitted to new screen. Face ID wont work without this. It must be put on new Screen.

Face id runs off the camera. the camera isnt touched

LCD is thicker than OLED, 3D touch would make the screen even thicker. XR uses LCD, no one want an iphone thick like a brick.
