    People that hate Ryno crack me up. Ok wiseguys go out there and have a pro career better than what he accomplished, and win a MxON and be the GOAT of the Vet class, and then come back and start spouting that he's just an "average" teacher. Keyboard warriors are so infuriating. He's seen the worst this sport can do to people, yet he's calm, wise, and always positive. Listen up and you could learn a thing or two.

    Ryno, I agree on much of your theory, but I think you need to acknowledge the hips need to be over the footpegs because they are the center of balance to the bike just like the hips are the center of our gravity. The footpegs are the most critical component to riding position since they are the pivot point. Correct body position should have the hips directly over the pivot point both seated or standing and then move accordingly to maintain balance.

    After years of trail riding and running out of strength in my legs by the end of the trail (up to 150k a ride depending on laps of club rides)...
    I finally found riding straight legged, using my ankles for a bit of flex.. and allowing the suspension to do all the work... and my legs thanked me greatly...
    All those years of a more MX stance, bent knees springing me up n down.
    My ol 99 yz250 doesn't have the best suspension, and after a couple of hours cresting farm hills & firebresks, through woops and up creek beds.. Finally I could stay off that seat longer and with straight legs, I get a straighter back with the hinge at the hips, so less curved spine pain.
    (Granted the need to bend legs for those bigger jump/drops where you were bottoming out the bike and not wanting a donkey kick from a sharp lip...
    Straight legs also allow you to support your whole upper body on your legs so your arms are not weighted on the bars....
    This is something to try.. but probably not the best for short rides... but definitely was a plus for me when I can barely go a 50k lap before sitting through the ride...

  • @BrianMcNeill25

    I need to work more on the riding on the toes. I have been doing better riding in rutted turns leaving my feet on the pegs, but I have a pic sequence from a local photographer showing exactly what he showed with the rock knocking the feet off the pegs. From the feet being too far forward.

    • @mightystreaming933
      @mightystreaming933 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      balls of feet - brake - balls of feet same as shifting the foot has to move at some point. i used the transmission ( engine braking ) and rear brake for ow shit moments. the front brake gives the most stopping power.

      @@MX-CO he and the track owner/prepper mind you. I was filming. This guy is just a jealous hater troll. He comments elsewhere too.
      That said, Ryan isn't much of a warmer-upper and is very confident in his ability, even when he hops on some unknown POS bike... 0 to WFO. Probably programmed after decades of hopping on good pre-prepped bikes. Perhaps this is his personal "butt tucking" that he needs to work on. Ryan is a good guy. He does care about making riders safer.

    • @cencoast_7.340
      @cencoast_7.340 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnHowerton137 Not a jealous troll hater at all. In this sport intuition is everything and the moment you feel as though you’re riding above your skill level or comfort zone that’s when shit happens. Say what you will but I’ve no reason to be jealous of Hughes or anyone for that fact.

    • @JohnHowerton137
      @JohnHowerton137 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cencoast_7.340 I’ve read plenty of your comments on TH-cam.
      You’re not wrong, but riding fast... things break. Doesn’t matter if you’re riding over your head or not. A small judgment error is all that’s needed. Get off at Ryno speed and stuff breaks. Slow riders don’t understand this. A line can move from one lap to the next. Clip a footpeg or hit a clutch lever on a track marker in a corner before a jump and your perfect line the lap before has you on your head with a spinal injury.

    Ryan’s amazing. But, I’ve taken lessons from a pro trainer and it’s not good to give someone too much info at once because our minds can only focus on one thing properly when riding. We especially have to concentrate super hard to erase a bad habit and replace it with a new one. Takes time. Once that one technique becomes a habit then the trainer should move to the next glaring tip that the particular rider needs to focus on.
