Thanks! Great question! So the logo is super easy, it's simply a single texture and I just made the spline match where the logo was on the material that I applied on the plane object.
@@eyedesyn Right! The old Redshift method, of course! I was trying with a second material on top (with alpha) for the logo but it gets displaced in a weird way. Thanks again! By the way, I guess the next step would be for someone to use this in replacement of Marvelous Designer (a fine software, but with sometimes a bit of a frustrating workflow). For simple objects, like a superhero cape or a bed sheet, no trouble at all. But for a winter coat or pants? I would love to see that! Up for a challenge? ;0)

Hi EJ, I love this tutorial. I just have one question. I can't seem to drop a quilt I've made this way. The pins made with the vertex map don't seem to recognise the gravity, and just hold parts of the cloth up. Is there a button I've missed? Thanks.
Hey, thank you so much for your tutorials. Really appreciated! I have a general question and hope you can help me out. In the new 2023 the Collision Tolerance is gone and no matter what settings I fiddle with in the scene/simulation tab, I always have huge distance between the two objects. Thanks in advance!
Hmmm - it might be because you need more Substeps (in the dynamic settings), you could also need more subdivisions on your mesh for more accurate results, it might also be scene scale, your objects may be way too small. Let me know if any of those help - if not I can keep thinking! :)
@@eyedesyn Hey, thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately the scene scale has no effect at all and the objects are all enough subdivided. Do you mean the settings in the simulation tab with the collision steps and iterations? I pumped the numbers up but it also only helps with intersecting areas. Really appreciate it!
@@eyedesyn Hey, I found the solution while watching your 2023 cloth simulation tutorial from school of motion! All you have to do is decrease the thickness value inside the softbody tag. Easy as that, so thanks again!
can any a 3d letters for a logo be made of the clothes simulation or it is just you add symbol or image on the clothe simulation fabric/material. so basically it is to have each 3d letters made of the clothes material and run a simulation than to have a logo imprint on the fabric?
If I put anytime of animation in my vertex maps, be it with linear fields updating of a shader field with an animated noise, I place it in the mix animation un check deformed points and it wont update in the simulation even though it does work in the vertex map view..
Hi, I loved your tutorial! I made a cloth inflation that had various letters. However now I want to add different materials to those inflated letters. Can you please suggest how to do that?
Great one! I need to connect a dynamic object to a pre-animated object, is there a way to make the first to follow the pre-animated one, can't quite solve the problem, before it was possible to assign a Ghost Body tag (Bullet) but can't find something like that for the new Simulation system.
Theres no ridig bodies in the new system yet, so what you can do is use the old rigid body system, bake the old dynamics and then apply a colllider tag to the baked object with the cached old rigid body dynamics
Hi EJ. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I have a question: have you ever made a natural scene using quixel megascans and Cinema 4d? I would like to know a little more about that integration of programs. I would like to pay for a course on that subject at school of motion. Again thank you very much.
Hey there! There are a ton of tutorials covering megascans and c4d, in fact my one NAB 2022 presentation was on this topic! th-cam.com/video/TjhYyCjw4qc/w-d-xo.html
I tried doing this tutorial but I am on the newest version of C4D and cant find the Mix Animation setting in the rope simulation tag! if anyone can help please help this confused newbie
i tried the setup with the dynamic connectors. but instead of using ropes i tried using a point selection tag with fields. in the field i put a spline. in the dynamic connectors tag i checked on "same object" and dragged the point selection tag into the "point restriction". works beautifully... b u t if i try to animate the spline that creates the point selection (like you did in your second setup with mix animation) , the dynamic connectors dont update from frame to frame. i checked "update live" but no luck... is this a bug or simply a limitation? thanks!
How to make the effect of the interaction of cloth with air, namely air resistance? To get the correct dynamics when waving the flag, for example. Is it even possible?
Is there a way to tell Cinema 4D which GPU to use for simulation? I see in the Preferences -> veiwport hardware -> info it's listing one of my eGPUs as the GPU. Similar to how X-Particles has a pref setting to allow me to choose which GPU to use for sims.
