One of the most amazing things about this theme has got to be the fact that a major portion of the beat driving this to greatness sounds as if it was played on bones thwemselves!That's when you know a composer has climbed into the skin(or bones in this case) of the character they compose music for.
+Reitanda If I'm not mistaken I think I saw a comment somewhere that they actually DID use some bone instruments including a flute. This song though... It truly is a masterpiece. I'm so glad the composer actually took the time to go through some of the music and really put together good music, especially since many fighting games tend to overlook the music.
I'm really happy with this theme. When I bought Killer Instinct for the SNES back in the day, I used to listen to that music disc all the time. I think I still have it...somewhere. Regardless, i'm happy they kept with top-quality music.
A theme that's slow to start and once it does oddly sounds to me more like a boss theme than a regular character one. It sets on an oppressive feeling as it builds, and suddenly cuts into loud precession much like a calm sea suddenly brought to life by a storm, tearing apart anything that gets in it's path. The vocals make Spinal seem like some unstoppable force and it sounds like some of the vocals are shouting "FALL!" as if demanding you to kneel before Spinal and beg for mercy that will not come.
If you read the translated lyrics it's even more so, a rough translation refers to Spinal as some warrior god who they are summoning in their time of need.

Because I own the original Killer Instinct soundtrack on CD ("Killer Cuts") from 1995ish (I think it came with my Killer Instinct SNES game), I felt some nostalgic drive to get this on CD as well to see if there was a secret track, similar to the old one! But apparently this isn't on CD. Stupid future.

I haven't played this one, but its nice that they paid homage to his very first theme from Killer Instinct 1. If you mute out the singing you can hear this is sort of like a remix to his original theme. Bone rattles and all. Kudos!

That shield seems like the head of Cthulhu. The designers made a good research about the fear of the seas, and the music is so accurate to the pirate's atmosphere.

I don’t care what people say, Spinal is the coolest character in this whole game, and had the best theme! I don’t know much about KI or it’s lore, i’ve only played it once at a friend’s house, but Spinal is just so interesting to me.

There was nothing distinguishable about Spinal than the trillions of walking skeletons you could see in a number of old-school video games back then, so I'm really liking this new look. Makes him look much more defined, in a way.
