I am a former Marine and I had 4 types of cancer. I had colon cancer, one called carsonoid syndrome, blood cancer and a cancer in my stomach. I listened to this song over and over for quite a while and I ended up beating all that cancer.
Fuck I had such a shit fucking day and I never let anything get to me I am an over joyous person, when I walked into work not 2 minutes in everyone in my kitchen caught on to it. I said “ I’m not ok but I’ll be over it in a little bit I just never get to be in a bad/sad mood ever give me a minute” naturally so I fall back to my ways and realize we all deal with our own bullshit and it can always be worse. Then I see your comment and reflect on the perspective that I could’ve traded shoes with your (then) situation. God bless you I didn’t even search this video it just came on I’m glad it did. Hope your still doing alright brother.
I'll never forget the gun salute and them folding daddys flag and getting down on one knee to hand it to me. I LOST IT! Daddys was a WWII vet and every day he lived in hell remembering what he saw. He would turn into a very mean man but I loved him through it. My brothers and sister would say how can you love him so much. I'd say, How could I not I didn't see such a bloody war. Only two came back from his platoon and the high up leaders told them both they were released and called them white trash because we were poor. My daddy was their hero and they were to blind to see.😢 Edited.. Daddy died in 2009 and yesterday on the 19th he would of been a 100. The government isn't for us they are the ones causing divisions to cause hate and distractions for us to keep our focus on fighting one another instead of loving.

Brantley wrote this song, verse 1 is about a friend of his that was deployed in 2006, his war buddy got killed over there Oct 15, 2006. Verse 2 is about a friend of his that passed away from leukemia and that was his attitude when he found out and started his battle with cancer..
