Something I’ve noticed, the very first shot we see of Michael, after Dr. Sartain says “and there he is.” A wide shot of the yard, the framing of the scene, what stands out to me is the verticality. Tall, sheer white walls, and the checkerboard tiles all drawing lines of motion to the center of the screen. The scene gave me chills in the theater. Seeing Michael with the scarred eye, the mask comes out and that updated Halloween theme kicks in. The score in this movie is excellent.
I can't believe that no one is making more of this beginning scene as it sets the pace as to just how evil Michael Myers really is. I like to consider this film the end in all honesty; Laurie’s preparation pays off & Michael is burned (or so she thinks). This & the original stand back to back.
A lot of people make fun of this scene, but to me this is one of the most important scenes in the franchise especially after seeing Halloween Kills. Besides the obvious dread, it pours more into my theory that being in the presence of Michael induces madness. I don’t think he teleports so much as I think when people are around him they hallucinate. I think that when he’s calm everyone acts normal, but once he’s active, people and animals freak out and his evil effects their mental state. It’s almost like a Pheromone or something. Dogs in particular seem to sense his evil. I think his evil corrupted Sartain. I even would go so far as to say in kills it wasn’t just the lynch mob mentality that made those people stupid, but Michaels evil and madness that fed their own mania and drove them to do stupid things (kind of like the gas and drugs in Cabin in the Woods). Karen even starts to see visions of young Michael at the end of the movie after stabbing him just like Jamie did in Halloween 4. I hope that they delve into that more in Halloween Ends.

The ONLY thing I don’t like about this scene is that it makes it seem like the mask was the reason “why” he killed and did what he did. Doctor Loomis said there was NO REASON and HE (Michael) was evil, not the mask. This makes the mask the power source and makes Michael kill.
The scene doesn’t turn the mask into an “evil source to murder”. Michael Myers just liked to use masks while killing, he felt great wearing it, since Myers was a little boy that killed his sister, he felt empowered, like it was a part of his own self. The doctor knew that, Michael loved it so much he felt it even when he was not looking at it, not because the mask gave him the power to kill people, but because he felt complete while the mask was under his possesion.
Nah it does, but as with many this its " up to interpretation" you could just as easily assume the mask is just part of it and Michael himself his human body is supernaturally possessed by some demonic entity, I can assume that just as much as his mask having some "force" within it, which it also does I believe but its just a part of it ya know.
I love how the environment becomes filled with an intense atmosphere the moment the mask is brought out, and the aura of the mask is felt even by the guard dog. It reminds me in Star Wars when Vader or the Emperor are around and people feel a sort of “chill” or “sickness” just by their sheer presence. They don’t even need to do anything, just the air around them feels foul, and Michael is no different in this film. Well done scene, but maybe a little bit too over the top with the patients which can be a little unintentionally distracting to me.
I still wonder about what actually awaken Michael in this movie. Was it the mask? Halloween? The transfer? Did he sense that Laurie was near during the transfer? A combination of these factors? Or was he always aware and was just waiting for the best moment to escape?
That is why I love this sequel to the original because the past movies make laurie as his sister which gives him a reason to kill but this story line is that he doesn't really have a motive he is just evil
@@a-a-ron1155 Yeah. It's hard to believe, but some people are evil just for the sake of it. They have no motives and Michael Myers works better without one.

The mask is the source
@@viniciussiqueira7997 When he got the mask, he was savoring the moment.
One'a my fav movie scenes of all time! 😭😍
I feel like the only thing you can do with Michael Myers is sit down and look him in the eyes and that will give you all the answers you need
I like to think that the inmates are trying to warn the visitors because they know what Michael is capable of-
I still wonder about what actually awaken Michael in this movie.
I remember reading a comment from somewhere that it was Aaron telling him to say something that triggered Michael.
Michael doesn't talk, so the comment theorized that Michael's way of talking is killing.
Somehow I too can feel the mask.
My Mom thought Arron was an idiot for taunting Michael...and she's right!
♥️📽🎃
exactly! but Michael will make him pay in the bathroom massacre anyway. And I don't mind that.
"Do you ever think about them, Michael?.....about their fate?
Might as well have been talking to a brick wall...great stuff !
Samuel Loomis is a hero because he saves people from Michael
Really this should have been All 3 films.
They brought him back to his darkness and Laurie kills him in the end as she is so prepared.
It really is the best of the 3 and the best Halloween movie aside from the first.
"Underestimate noone" man was that some foreshadowing lol
What is happening is that these patients are having extreme psychotic breaks. And its fucking incredible.
Definitely watching this on Halloween.....oddly enough
What an Odd Coincidence...
Best of the 3 new films by far
I was originally expecting to see his entire face in this scene instead of just the side and I was expecting the same thing in the new one as well
After watching the Halloween Kills trailer, I'm honestly amazed they managed to capture and lock up this version of Michael. He's a friggin' badass. 😂
Kinda seen movies like this
And he's in his 60s here, they took out a in prime mm and locked him up
