- The War of the Beard, also known as a The War of Vengeance, is an age old rivalry between the High Elves and the Dwarfs. The bitter hatred between these two factions reignites once again, as Prince Tyrion leads an invasion into the Mushroom Caves of the Dwarf Empire. High Elves vs. Dwarfs action on Total War Warhammer 2, in an epic battle to the death!

Dude same. I just want the blood pack already. All these dry ass vortex spells and giant ogres and monsters smashing things with absolutely no blood and gore feels so underwhelming
Cathay and Kislev are cool and all but there's something about the big boys of the Ordertide that they just can't quite replace.
Would that happen to be years of dlc? i think kislev and cathay will be great once all of their new goodies come into the game aswell. Looking forward to monkey warriors and mother ostankya (baba yaga)

@@ianduarte1992 Yes. Only 1 dlc for dwarfs and then 1 "rework" flc that made campaign tweaks. Dawi need more units more dakka. No dlc until the dawi get Kraka drak with thunderbarge and runic guardians!

Amazing video! I love the mix of lore, game knowledge, stats, strategy tactics, close-ups of the combat, etc. Also very nice that you mouse over the abilities and spells, giving us a chance to pause the video and read.

Yeah I wouldn't be upset to see a few more TWW2 battles in the future. 3 is a good foundation, 1.1 is functionally 1.0, but it is getting a bit stale in terms of battle replays.
In fairness, we only currently have seven basic factions so there's bound to be some staleness after a bit. Once Immortal Empires arrives and those seven factions get some extra seasoning, I doubt we'll ever see another Game 2 replay save once in a blue moon.
@@jedimasterdraco6950 100%! I am not blaming the game, nor CA, nor Indy for the staleness at all. At the launch of the game, it was inevitable. It's no one's fault, it's just a minor hiccup that will fix itself over time. I'm sorry if it came across that I was trying to imply anything other than that.
Damn it feels good to see some blood. Really miss it for Warhammer 3.
I still have to begin a Skarbrand campaign (want to wait until blood pack releases).

It would’ve been better to go for the charge to harass the mage, but instead of sticking around to die the bomber should’ve immediately pulled out after doing the damage it could.

I wanted the High Elves to win. But, dang! What a close, even fight!
I think, all things considered, the episode is a lot like the first War of the Beard as a dwarf 'victory' but as pyrrhic in the sense. The High Elves have more soldiers remaining but they are exhausted. The dwarves won but only barely.
I guess we need another round.
Looking forward to having WH1&2 races in Domination modes.

Honestly I kinda like high elves but I can't deny it's good to see their silly helmets get caved in by dwarfs.
What do you think of the high elf passive martial prowess? I heard turin making fun of it and I have to agree that this might be one of the worst passives in the game. I wonder how you could rework it while still keeping that "elite" feel to high elf troops?
Have it activate again at 20% it's much weaker with less units, but at least the high elves with all of thier martial prowess won't go down without a fight
@@CloudianMH but they're damn cowards, :) stupid Knife ears think they're so high and mighty, right up until a single cannonball kills ten elite warriors trained over generations, I don't agree with giving them one at 20%, (though I do like SFO's answer which was making them better, if they've got friends nearby to "form a formation with")

Tyrion generated value by taking shots. He got shot up a lot and that kept ammo away from the infantry.

Wait why did the dawi player put his troops in the river when he easily could have held the river line making the defence easier? Am i missing something?
No the dawi player was super inefficient and there was some poor micro here.
Plus small units would suffer melee penalty while in shallow water.
It was for Thorek, who would not be penalized being a large unit
He held the ground and that ground ran into the water, though I'm sure his hope was that the slow of the water from the first angle would be enough to keep there attention on that section, rather then focusing on the one in water which was a prime killing zone even if targeted

Hey Indy can you tell me if Cav does impact collision damage in Warhammer2? MercytheMad recently made a video about in in Warhammer3 so I'm wondering if it works the same in 2.
yes it does. it works similarly between the two games now, although there are probably a few minor changes in the shift from wh2 to wh3

Tyrion running away from instead of into the Engineer was the huge mistake, I think. He could have beaten that Engineer in melee, I think.

Noob question here. But if Ironbreakers fought against Swordmasters of Hoeth, who would win?
Would depend on the battlefield.
Open field? SwordMasters no question
Tunnels? Ironbreakers barely
lorewise or in WH2? in Warhammer 2, Swordmasters would win, they are designed to kill armored infantry. From a lore perspective, they're about even as elites and it would depend on the situation

I am looking forward to Mortal Empires but I don't think that WH3 will ever be as good as WH2... but I am hoping to be proved wrong. Good to see the Dawi again and what an EPIC game. Loved it
its going to have all the ME content from game 2, including all the old races and all their features/mechanics. So I feel pretty confident it will become better than WH2 was. might take awhile tho

TWWH2 is superior to TWWH3 in most aspects but I would buy Chaos daemons as a DLC for TWWH2 if they would sell it. I just didn't like Kislev being all about bears. Bears would be better is they would be used like demigryph knights. Cathay is not cool right now but has future potential.

There is something about Warhammer 2, I cant quite put my finger on it, that just looks better, cleaner compared to 3. Is there some sort of filter over battles in 3, perhaps? Not sure. Thoroughly enjoyed this battle.
I suppose it's the Temporal AA of wh3
Wh2 had only msaa, which looks cleaner but costly in performance.
@@5thbulletofjhin333 Hmm, that does make sense, since Warhammer 3 came out I also upgraded my pc so I might have actually turned AA on for a change. I´ll mess around with the settings, maybe I can get it as nice and crisp as before. Thanks for your input, good sir.
@@BruderRaziel You can use fxaa or force msaa through gpu driver control panel. Temporal makes everything look blurry.

now how the heck are they gonna allow these kind of coherent tactics in domination mode? it's really a mystery to me. Surely there must be a common ground. But it's just not the same game with unlimited units.

Kinda lame ending. really brings to the fore all my biggest gripes with this game. Single entities win by spamming abilities, while elite infantry get to pound sand. painful to watch and really says everything about what's wrong with Warhammer 2.

When the hell are we going to get all the races put back into wh3? I'm sick of this garbage! Wh2 is the best!
You know, I could forgive denuvo in TWW3 if CA fixed its performance problems to the point that same settings on TWW3 produced the same framerates as those same settings on TWW2. I'm not unreasonable, it's just that ever since I saw the multiple independent videos showing the frame rate drops in TWW3 across the board compared to TWW2, along with CA's refusal to just give us a benchmark tool with no denuvo so we could prove to ourselves that denuvo makes no performance difference, I've decided I'm not going to just accept it. I'm going to keep railing on CA until they fix their denuvo performance sink bug filled garbage game.
