I have a question, cuz I didn't notice the AAVE thing. I feel like a lot of people in their 30s have a little AAVE in their language because that was a popular way of speaking as a teen or whatever. Even now, kids say things and speak in way that is popular in black culture. Like "it's giving" and "not the..." However, Glamzilla is Canadian and even these short vids, you can hear her turning it on and off, on when she wants to be "sassy" or "cool". Thelipsticklesbians do this, not necessarily about problematic brands, but they do short videos on different products and formulas and stuff in sephora and ulta bc they're brand owners and are familiar with product formulation. I learned from them to swatch stuff on the creasey part of my hand to test foundation/concealer/etc for how it'll wear in wrinkles.
I'm almost 32 and I only use the "I'm just a girl line" as like a joke and I keep it to myself (mainly if I have to pick up something heavy or something like that) plus her reactions to people calling her out are super childish. As a millennial, I do not act like this and neither do my friends. Guess she just wasn't told no as a child.

7:44 I 100% agree. I’m a broke college student who’s also plus size, so finding stores with plus size inclusive clothing in my style is a rare gem and often costs way more than I can possibly afford. I buy my clothes in bulk almost, but like- once every 9 months or something and for things I need. I save up my money for it. Like right now I’m saving to buy a full set of clothes which are going to last me for a WHILE (at least 2 years). And I wear those clothes until I can’t wear them anymore. And if, god forbid, I get ‘bored’ of them or something, I’ll give it so someone I know. Influencers buying like 700 items of clothing, not wear them and send them to thrift stores or the trash or something is just complete waste.

I've followed glamzilla since she was more of a local influencer in my city. I love the way she applies makeup (and still do tbh). At one point she followed me back and we had a few interactions in DMs. Her social media persona has changed so much. This has been weird to witness.

I used to be a total jeffree star make up Stan, I loved it and his stuff was my favourite brand. When everything came out I stopped buying from him. Do I still check eBay for it? Yeah, I won't lie. However, Glamzilla is Canadian and even these short vids, you can hear her turning it on and off, on when she wants to be "sassy" or "cool". Also using AAVE when deflecting from her misdeeds, it's so cringe. Using an occasional phrase isn't the problem, it's the put-on " sass" that gives that mocking vibe.

Thelipsticklesbians do this, not necessarily about problematic brands, but they do short videos on different products and formulas and stuff in sephora and ulta bc they're brand owners and are familiar with product formulation. I learned from them to swatch stuff on the creasey part of my hand to test foundation/concealer/etc for how it'll wear in wrinkles.

I'm almost 32 and I only use the "I'm just a girl line" as like a joke and I keep it to myself (mainly if I have to pick up something heavy or something like that) plus her reactions to people calling her out are super childish. As a millennial, I do not act like this and neither do my friends. Guess she just wasn't told no as a child.

7:44 I 100% agree. I’m a broke college student who’s also plus size, so finding stores with plus size inclusive clothing in my style is a rare gem and often costs way more than I can possibly afford. I buy my clothes in bulk almost, but like- once every 9 months or something and for things I need. I save up my money for it. Like right now I’m saving to buy a full set of clothes which are going to last me for a WHILE (at least 2 years). And I wear those clothes until I can’t wear them anymore. And if, god forbid, I get ‘bored’ of them or something, I’ll give it so someone I know. Influencers buying like 700 items of clothing, not wear them and send them to thrift stores or the trash or something is just complete waste.

I used to be a total jeffree star make up Stan, I loved it and his stuff was my favourite brand. When everything came out I stopped buying from him. Do I still check eBay for it? Yeah, I won't lie. It's not about the products, she clearly cares about views and making money off of controversy and I think that's what she was trying to do with this "series." Either that or she simply does not realize that the reason these people are controversial is because they did truly horrible things. Its not just drama, there's a reason that people don't support Jeffrey and James anymore and Glamzilla must be living under a rock to not know that.
I love that you are so honest and willing to call these creators that are only peddling large brands and/or marketing to people can’t afford major brands like that. Agree with creators trying to help these small businesses by reviewing them!

Her TikTok response to Robert’s comment is the most unhinged. It doesn’t matter if the formulas are good or not. There are TONS of products out there that are just as good or better that you can spend your money on and NOT line the pockets of horrible people. Like… the fact that she doesn’t get that the product quality is irrelevant here blows my mind. Tons of people have already reviewed them. This isn’t groundbreaking. It’s just bad.

Her insistent that the makeup could be REALLY good so it’s justified is so funny. Jeffery star’s makeup could be made with serum from the fountain of youth and i still wouldn’t spend my money on it. James charles could be giving away a car if you purchased his stupid makeup pallet and I STILL WOULD NOT BUY IT. Sometimes the way you choose to spend your extra money is indicative of your moral compass. She clearly showed her morals here.
