      No thank you , so I watched one of your videos on how to repair vapor barrier leak.
      It was so helpful that I did a deep dive into a few more of your videos which helped me understand how they are built. I have a single wide 1985 Cavco. Thank you once again for all your hard work and the great video

    Loving your videos. Do you have any mentioning how you would secure wrap edges near the metal beams? In my situation the belly wrap was fully degraded, and don't have free space to pass the material between metal beam and floor joists.

      Take a 2 x 2 and a tarp roll one end up nail it to the floor, Joyce or screw it to the floor Joyce and then pull it to the other side with another one by two or one by one. Whatever do the same thing if you have to cut it for any reason, cut it, you can put a patch over the cut

    Beautiful work! And nice explanation. Thank you. Was the plastic on the ground already there? 5mm?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I put the plastic on the ground so that we could work on it instead of crawling around in the dirt. The dirt overtime will kill your knees plastic as much better to work on top of.

  • @nickdamico7575
    @nickdamico7575 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Great video guys thanks for sharing all this information. my question is in your video. I see you have the ground covered with plastic. My trailer is in Nokomis, Florida about an hour south of Tampa is this something you recommend for trailers in the south ones that are sitting on sand

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well, I like the moisture barrier on the ground as it will keep most of the ground moisture down underneath ground moisture is what Rhines most mobile homes. They start rusting the frames deteriorate so keeping the moisture down is important where I live. I also have a dehumidifier under my house.

    You probably better than anyone would know the answers to these questions I have. How much protection from mice, rats and raccoons is the underbelly when it is properly done? and what is the best set up for the mobile home to be sitting on, concrete pad, concrete runners , dirt or gravel? I watch you all working under them and it seems like concrete might make it easier, and more space definitely would.

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No real protection at all. Underpinning will work best for that. Concrete. If they were sitting on concrete, that would be nice.

    You say "Extra strength 3M, use that underbelly" as in the underbelly fabric but are you going with similar grade that is another brand on Amazon? Can't seem to find that stuff. What size is the roll you were using?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Joel I used was 14 x 80 and I bought it at a Mobile Home Supply store. You can’t buy it at Lowe’s. Go check your Mobile Home Supply stores. You’ll find it and it’s not that expensive.

    does the underbelly material need to breathe? i.e. would it be a mistake to use a roll of 6 mil airtight polyethylene ?

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would probably suggest using underbelly as it does breathe. I feel like solid plastic might cause issues between the floor.

      If I were you, I would put 3 inches of gravel under my entire mobile home. It will soak up a lot of water. You’ll be surprised and if you have room put a dehumidifier under there you can buy at Lowe’s for 250 bucks. That’s what I did.

    I wish that there was someone around my area that did work on mobile homes. Because my wife and I are both disabled. We can't afford to pay to much to have new windows and the under belly replaced along with installation put back in. I did have my nephew replace the flooring and that is when I found out that all of the installation and under belly was bad. Now the plumbing in the bathroom is making a noise.

    is blown in insulation ok to use for the floor? It would just be manually dumped into the channels created by the tyvek.

    • @Drewsroofingandhomerepair
      @Drewsroofingandhomerepair  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If that is the only place you have to put the insulation because you’re underbelly is gone. Yes use the method that I did. What you wanna do is put blown insulation in there or you can just use bat insulation like I did. It’s up to you blown insulation would be fine, you can just put the rolls in it just like Paul and I did
