No I think the spelling Error with the Family Name is intentional. In the Movie Clark says he has relatives in germany and wants to visit them only to end up in the wrong house. I guess tehy wanted to make the name fit because Griswald with an A has german roots, it could be an americanisation of Grieswald and I actually knew someone with the Grieswald Family name. Chevy Chase and Beverly d'Angelo did a commercial a few years ago, I can't remember what the product was for, where they reprised the Griswolds. However in the commercial, they got both Anthony Michael Hall and Jason Lively to appear. At one point in the commercial, Clark asks "Rusty" if he is good with something, and Anthony Michael Hall says yes, then Clark looks to Jason Lively and asks "Euro Rusty?"
Chevy has a seriously bad reputation in Hollywood. From this movie to the TV show Community and everything in between. Never heard anything good about this guy.
Yup. He's been in some classic movies and had very funny performances, but from everything that I've heard about him, he's a stuck-up, narcissistic, Prima Donna that nobody gets along with and hates working with. I loved his character on Community (one of those characters that you just love to hate) but he is also the reason that the show went off the rails after its third season. His stupid feud with Dan Harmon, who is by no means innocent, all caused by ego. No wonder he stopped finding any work besides the occasional cameo. Nobody wants to deal with him.
Yep. Him and Bill Murray both have the same reputation. Richard Dreyfuss said that he truly thought that he was bipolar. When they were filming ‘What About Bob’… he said he came back from lunch one day drunk, and put his nose on Richard Dreyfuss‘s nose and told him that he was just tolerated and nobody thought he was talented or wanted him around. Then proceeded to pick up a glass ashtray and threw it at his head. Missing by only a few inches. Dreyfus is convinced that he tried to hit him, but because he was drunk he missed. Said he’s never apologized. So, unfortunately, some of the funniest people in the film are just hateful angry people in real life. I don’t know how anybody in that privileged position could be anything but grateful. But unfortunately, few are.
Honestly the only good thing I heard about him as his wife and daughter think he's a great family man. I'll give him that. Outside of that I totally believe he's a bastard.

This was the only Vacation movie that was shown on TV when I was a kid. The nightclub scene you show at the end was shot in the Electric Ballroom in London. Around 15 years later a lot of that decor was still there although more decrepit. Good to see the late Mel Smith get a namecheck. You should really check out the TV series 'Colin's Sandwich' which was a work of genius.
This is the best one...we went to London and paid a cabbie to drive around the same roundabout while we repeated Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament over and over...he thought we were crazy. : )
Clark Griswold: "Who The Hell Called Chicago?" Rusty Just Stands There Acting Like Nothing Happened But Clark Griswold Knows Who Did Called Clark Griswold: "AUDREY!" Audrey Griswold: " Oh Shit I'm Dead Meat Now"
European Vacation is my favorite out of the series. I remember when i first saw it i asked my Ma what a bed pan was. When it was explained to me i had a fit of laughter. Then when it sunk in i wanted to throw up. Anyway's TY Minty! You're a bright magnetar in these dismal times.

Of course I could get on the dog and bone and call my friend, Jim the Spiv down White Chapel way." Clark: [Types into handheld translator device] Rusty: "Dad, he's speaking English."
The Stone Hinge scene was the best scene in this movie. I always felt they should have had a group of tourists going to see the real Stone Hinge brought to the set when the fake one was destroyed to get some real time reaction to the destruction of Stone Hinge by Clark Griswald. It would have made for a good scene in the mvoie and for a really good laugh for the cast and crew to watch.
Excellent and entertaining as always. I did like this movie a lot when it came out. Another interesting cameo to add is Rusty's love interest played by Moon Unit Zappa, Frank Zappa's daughter. His son Dweezil (the guy in the beret) is in Running man.
I guess they could have had Cousin Eddie joining the reserves or finishing his obligated reserve service in West Germany. He could have met up with the family in Oktoberfest by going AWOL and getting drunk and kicked out of the Army.
I think it makes his appearance in Christmas Vacation more fun and unexpected. "If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now…”
"There's Buckingham Palace, kids. That's where the Queen lives and works."
"Works? What does she do, Dad?"
"She queens... and vacuums."

@@Solodolo84 The Toy was a favorite in my house! ❤️
I always look forward to your videos Minty. Great content and great channel. Keep it up man.
: )
Clark Griswold: "Who The Hell Called Chicago?" Rusty Just Stands There Acting Like Nothing Happened But Clark Griswold Knows Who Did Called Clark Griswold: "AUDREY!" Audrey Griswold: " Oh Shit I'm Dead Meat Now"
"Audrey, you're father's not really going to castrate Jack. Are you Clark?...…..Clark?!?!?"
@@skyden24195 Clark Griswold: Okay I Won't.
@@skyden24195 , she said “You’re not really going to cut off Jack’s balls, are you?”
Loved all the Griswald Vacations, Vegas one was a damned good laugh too.
As a child of the 80s, European Vacation was MY National Lampoon movie! It was shown non-stop on HBO during my formative years!
Same, my favorite too.
The first two are my fave films of the series
Hotel Manager: [Speaking very quickly in a heavy English accent] "No, no. You're scuppered, mate. It's all gone reels and cotton. This place is full of macaroons. Of course I could get on the dog and bone and call my friend, Jim the Spiv down White Chapel way."
Clark: [Types into handheld translator device]
Rusty: "Dad, he's speaking English."
Thanks Minty
My favourite Vacation movie by far!
How fascinatingly fun!🖤 Love The Grizwald family!🌌☠️🏴 Holiday Road... 👍
This video is long overdue, good work minty 👍🏻
Honestly, Cousin Eddie's absence is the film's only detractor imo :)
That would've been clever. Nice job.
I think it makes his appearance in Christmas Vacation more fun and unexpected.
"If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now…”
Dude thanks for these videos you deserve more subs
It would've made thrice as much money if they called it, "Rusty - The European Tour".
One of my favorite movies! He was spot-on with the synopsis.
I CAN'T GET OFF ‼️‼️‼️‼️
Look kids! Buckingham Palace, Parliament...
“Hey kids”
“We know..Big Ben...”
“Parliament!” 🤣
Love you're collection behind you.
I'm willing to bet the Vacation movies take place in alternate dimensions.
Way to go Minty another good one
