This is the best surface representation of what some of the temples of the inner Earth realms look like. Great work by those that have dream travelled to the inner Earth, remembered and inspired by what they saw.

Since they never saw the interior, it is safe to assume that they were expecting it to be a dark, dank dungeon, filled with torture chambers and sacrificial altars. I mean, the only information that they had was "a cult that dug out a massive underground complex under the hills."
Wow! Are you kidding me? This is amazing! This place is like two hours away from where I live and I never heard of it. This will be one on one of my next trips for sure! Thanks!

YES! It is open to visitors for tours and various courses. I have visited several times and LOVE this beautiful community of multi-cultural people to which I feel very much a part. It is So fun to visit. You will be fascinated. Your mind and senses will be totally intrigued!

I used to live about five minutes' drive away during the time that they were in dispute (not with central government) but the regional authorities. At no time was blowing the place up ever threatened - even the Italian police would not put innocent lives in danger like that. The house concerned is not "a suburban house", given that it's not in any suburb, but is out in the countryside, up a fairly narrow, steep alpine valley.
My wife told me about this. We are going to visit someday.
I was going to share this on Facebook, but then I saw it said, "This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing." So I guess even though it's a part of an email I received from atlasobscura.com I won't be.

+modestrocker1 You can find various documentaries created about us linked via the playlists on our TH-cam channel. As for the cult comment, given that we are not a religion, not sure it applies, but the only way to find out is to come visit and see for yourself. ;)

+modestrocker1 Links to both Vice doc and some former members thoughts are in the info. I will say that most of what you see about Damanhur is pretty positive, even if you don't agree with some of their philosophy.

I thought I might have been alone in thinking the same thing .. I would have like to have seen less face and slower, panned and more detailed shots of the art being discussed. Looks like an awesome place though...what I got to see of it.
