Ok but we have acknowledge that Jooheon's aggressive rapping helped Monsta X to get the 'hip hop' name stamped on them as a group. Its been a year, lets just treat this as throwback to when Minhyuk had more lines. Now our puppy complains that his lines get cut on some songs.
At least Wonho got more lines in stuck. I'm still waiting for Hyungwon though

Hyungwon doesn't really get that many lines in Beautiful. xD He gets 2 lines that he repeats 3 times and I think there's just 1 more. That's still a lot more than what we are used to for him. In comparison to the vocal line the rappers usually get different lines instead of repeating the same thing so while I.M doesn't seem to have that many in Beautiful he actually has 6 different lines. I just thought that was interesting to mention.
4 years later and we finally got our wish. he has so many lines in the new album and he even wrote, composed and arranged a song for the group. i guess better late than never.

+Giulia Morello honestly despite everyone complaining about the lines distribution, i think it's reasonable why the lines were distributed this way - main vocals, main rappers were always meant to get more lines than the others then lead vocals and lead rappers get second most lines, then the remaining is split between the others. In a team, everyone has different duties, not all of them are meant to sing. Some's duties are to stand in front while posing for posters - just to get more people interested with their visuals, some are meant to attract with their loud and bright personalities in variety shows, some are meant to be macho af when in variety shows. Everyone has their different areas to shine in and not necessarily all gets or have to shine in songs / comebacks. There is never fair line distributions and never will there ever be really - cuz at the end of the day there will be weaknesses and strengths of different members to consider.
+Baby Koala Agree, there is a reason after all that positions like main/lead vocal/rapper exist (tbh there is often a gap technically between main/lead and the others, and that no matter what group we're talking about). And not everything is about who sings in an idol group like you said. Some members are always included because of their personnalities (variety), looks (visual) or dance skills (and if you look at which members are more popular in a group, those are usually the things people like, more than rapping/singing skills). I don't think this line distribution is unjustified.
The only line distributions I actually think are bad are the instance when a group member gets lots of lines not because he's great at singing/rapping but because he's popular while some members less popular but more skilled in that area only get a few lines. I'm all for letting the people that sing/rap best get the most lines and the others will shine in other areas they're good in (visuals tend to always try acting at some point, some members will try to go for a variety road...).
I agree with both of you, and maybe I said that because I don't know Monsta X that much, because I think the same exact thing for groups such as EXO or BTS or SNSD etc., I mean, everyone has its own role and it's not always in the music industry, but I was so shocked to see that one of them didn't even reached 4 sec of song...and another just 6 sec, I was so surprised, sorry ahahah but I know what you're saying :)

Love this song! Jooheon slayed that chorus and he honestly deserved every second he got.
Before anyone might bash Minhyuk for getting more lines than the lead vocal and too many lines for his position.
Let's APPRECIATE the fact that Minhyuk got lines here, even if most of them are shared with Kihyun. Minhyuk was able to shine during debut era, Wonho during Stuck era, now we just need to wait for Hyungwon. :)
tbh it's valid, shownu was never the official lead vocal. he is one of the 4 vocalists. But he's unofficially the lead vocal considering back in NO.MERCY, shownu and kihyun were both the best vocalists ranked.

I'm happy to see that their line distributions got better. Of course, they aren't exactly perfect, Kihyun dominates all of the songs (since he's the main vocal), and Minhyuk and Hyungwon (sometimes Wonho too) just get left out.
What i also wanted to mention is, that i still kinda understand why Jooheon has the most lines in here. First of all, the song in general is pretty rap-based, but that's not my point. The thing is, looking back on No.Mercy, he really was the one that was the most ready. The others all did a great job too, don't get me wrong, but he just already had the right aura and everything. Still happy to see him and Changkyun balanced now, tbh

After watching NO Mercy, I kind of understand this line distribution... Starship played it safe because Jooheon was the best trainee and very popular so they didn't miss the chance to use this for their debut. It still sucks tho...
this is a heavily hip hop based song and this was their debut song straight after no mercy and jooheon finished ranking no. 1 so i’m not shocked he got the most lines, i’m just happy to hear minhyuks voice

Still my favorite MX song. Jooheon’s voice fits so well with this chorus, and it wouldn’t be the same without him doing it.
Not hating on anyone but Starship. Honestly, they have the worst line distribution in the industry. Every band under Starship suffers from unfair line distribution and they seriously got to work on that because 1.4% and 2.6% of lines in a song is horrible. But then again, most of Jooheon's verse are in the chorus so maybe this isn't the best video to complain but still, some minor tweaks would have been nice.
