Wrong ! The opening should NEVER be in front. It should be on either sides. Also, there's a cut and loops on the belt, in which the long fastening is inserted and then both parts of fastening are tied 🙂
You can make a button size hole on side after measure where the belt could loop through. Just sew up the hole after. It makes the skirt, sit in a more stable way.

There is one loop on the waist band.....you have to insert the belt in it...pull the belt and then tie it around your waist
