This topic used to be one of the unanswered questions that made me run away from God. God bless you beyond measures, Pastey! Thank you thank you thank you.
Really once you see something in the bible that affects your world view, you will leave God? Jesus lost 5000 members in one day, it wasn't cos he said what sat well with them. That's the idea of picking up your cross and dying to self, and living for Christ. A day will come when it will be considered intolerant to hate and speak against sin and Christians would need to state what they believe, I hope you stick to what is written and not what feels nice to the hearing.
Thank you so much Apostle. As a woman, early on in my life, I struggled with understanding whether God called women to ministry too due to lots of extremists views about women should not preach, should not wear trousers or make-up or hair e.t.c. It almost ruined my walk with God because I thought he favoured only Men and the woman's place in the church was only to be Head over other women. Also, I didn't see much practical examples in the Body of Christ too then. Now, I have seen more Female Preachers globally doing great things for God even at CCI and I am so happy! Thank you for clarifying this. God bless you! Glory to God, I have a place in God's kingdom!
Thank you so much Pastey, last year someone posted a tweet about the Bible saying a woman should not preach but be silent. This thing caused an argument between my ex and I. I couldn’t really defend it with scriptures but now I know better. Thank you so much Pastey for being such a great father in the faith
You seem relieved that the message ended how you would have preferred it. If it ended with it's not God's plan would you still have this relief that God's word be true and every man a liar and submit to what it says? The more important question, I would ask is, is there any Christian doctrine that women are against that is still practices and vice versa, is there any the Bible more likely is against but somehow still stands because women are for it. e.g Polygamy; women are against it and it's almost called a sin but verses aren't provided. Covering of hair; the bible instructs it but women are against it and churches ignore it like it's not in the bible. Now on being a Pastor or Bishop, the Bible largely isn't for it(High-priests, priests, Jesus's disciples/apostles) all were males, Paul also writes alot of clear instuctions but we'd hang on to some women that wasn't so clear what office they held? My opinion, the instruction was clear, the texts on those women is clear they are believers but the capacity they operated in isn't clear nor suggest they were Shepherds(Pastors). I think Paul wasn't instructing on women's part in ministry but what capacity and the reason is capacity is a strong determinant on leadership and what is being adhered to in regards to instruction.
@@patrickdavid2076are you certain you have being following this 100DOD cause if so you should know by now that the right way to rightly divide/understand the Bible is not just by taking them literally but by understanding the context of it… what brought about those rules, the main message/mindset of the rules
@fisayospoint I listened very well to it.. An instruction is clear and the context was on offices of Bishops and Deacons the other scriptures clearly shows women have a part in ministry but a female Bishop isn't part of what was supported. If we are unsure, atleast we'd have had atleast one female Bishop either from the bible or from 1st to 2nd century Christians. That's over 200 years but somehow we have a better understanding. A man is a man, a woman is a woman, in christ no one is better but offices have duties and those duties maybe gender specific. In this case history and scripture is clear. I appreciate Pastey stating he doesn't have all the answers on the subject. But history and scripture is clear... if we begin to read meaning into clearcut instructions in scripture. I'm sure many witty people can do same with many other scriptures especially those thay aren't so clear. Does that mean I won't listen to a female preacher? I can but I don't think it's scriptural. Same with the scripture on covering of heads, these things are so straightforward. The effort is in the saying otherwise than saying what it obviously says. The reason was given why not to allow a woman be a Bishop for 200 years of early church fathers not one. Even Egypt had a female Pharoah, but not one single Female Bishop. Why?

Apostle, thank you, Sir, for sharing that principle of Bible interpretation. I believe that in some of the "hard texts" you shared, Paul was speaking about cultural issues not necessarily creating a doctrine. You also talked about a context and it's important to note that these things happened in the present day Middle east that is known to be very cultural. He was addresing people based on their cultural definition, perception or view of decency. A culture as peoples way of life can change. These traditions were not designed to marginalize women rather to create balance or decency in their then society. However, as society evolves, some of those cultures don't hold sway anymore. Some of these things are not taught as doctrines because they do not meet the benchmark of doctrine. Not everything said in the scripture can be taught as a doctrine. It's safe to take this as Paul telling a Yoruba guy to always prostrate when they greet their elders. As a Hausa or Idoma guy, I'm not in error if don't prostrate while greeting my elders. Thank you sir for helping us become wiser each time you speak.

Day 8️⃣7️⃣ of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ DOD Topic: Does the Bible command women to be silent in church? Texts: 1 Cor 13:34, 1 Tim 2:15. 1. When it comes to Bible interpretation, you move from what is known to what is unknown. - The known is that Paul clearly tells us that women can do ministry as seen in 1 Cor 11:5 where he spoke about how women can operate as prophets - Also, Acts 21:8-9 shows the two daughters of Philip who were prophets 2. In Rom 16:1, the word servant is translated as deacon. Thus, Phoebe was a deaconess. - This clarifies the wrong notion that a deacon must be a man as seen in 1 Tim 3:1. - Rom 16:3, Paul mentioning Priscillia first implies that the woman was more prominent in the works of ministry as it is unimaginable to assume it was an accidental mentioning in those days and culture that didn’t acknowledge the role of women much outside their homes. - Also, calling a woman a fellow worker or co -labourer (as some translation has it) is the same exact phrase Paul used to describe Timothy who was a Pastor - Rom 16:7. Though some theologians argued whether Junia was an apostle or not, the emphasis is that she was notable among the apostles as the scripture posits. She was highly involved and elevated in the church. 3. These aforementioned women held church gatherings in their homes as the church had no buildings as at the time - So when the Bible says Priscilla and Aquila taught Apollos the word, that means they did the work of Pastors and Teachers. - It then means that it is inconsistent to say that women were not allowed to speak in church. 4. The second rule of Bible of Interpretation is The Context Rule - Reading 1 Cor 14:33-34, you have to understand that it is in the context of interpretation of prophecies and tongues that Paul said it should be taken in turns and for the women to be silent and not in the general context of sharing the word or doing ministry - This is because there was a rowdiness about it which suggests that the rowdiness he was addressing in general was more particular among women who stayed separately from the men in church gatherings - The men were more educated than women, so as a woman, if you want to ask, keep quiet and ask your husband at home and not in the church gathering which can create noise as you’d have to shout for him to hear you from where you are seated - Mike Winger and Anthony Thistleton made a corroborative commentary that the word silent is to refrain from a particular kind of speech which in this context was the noise and rowdiness. 5. In conclusion, Paul notably worked with women in teachings and ministry in general which he openly commended them in a culture that abhors such practices of women elevation - His statement in Gal 3:28 proves that women has a significant role to play in ministry. You got more points other than these? Kindly Share in the comment section. #100DaysOfDiscipleship #EmmanuelIrenlive #ICFCWJ
Wow... Thank you, Apostle. Contextual understanding is just too important to Bible Study. It would be inconsistent for the same Apostle Paul who commended women severally and worked with a lot of them to mean they should be outrightly silent More grace sir.
The silence is clear what it means. The church in it's entirety is meant to be silent and orderly it says in 1 Corithians 13. But when it's time to speak it expects prophets to speak which is a gift of the spirit and not a gender based thing. However for the rest of the congregation if at all you'll speak it has to be the husband which also is the father of a household to communicate what question is coming from his family. Outside this there is the work of the ministry in which all are called and isn't gender based, inside this work. There are offices which are leadership based(expectation to instruct and guide the church). Paul's command on it being a man is because it's a sensitive office and he gives his reason "That Adam wasn't deceived but the Eve". For the office of a Bishop in which you are a Shepherd and in a position to give instruction to a congregation Paul is clear, let's not make Paul sound confusing, there is a level of simplicity in Christ. Finally, Why aren't historical records of female Bishops or Pastors or Deacons from the 1st to 2nd Century Christians? even if they were skipped in the bible? 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
Thank you Pastey for doing justice to this topic. This topic has brought argument but the Holy Spirit has granted you insights on this topic. God bless you sir.
Thank you so much, Pastey. I remember struggling some years ago with the thought that I wasn’t loved and valued by God because I’m a woman, due to other interpretations of difficult parts of the bible like this one. I needed to see this then. God bless you richly, Sir!!!
Day 87 - Does the Bible Command Women to Be Silent? Galatians 3:28, 1 Corinthians 14:34, 1 Timothy 2:15 When interpreting the Bible, it's essential to move from what is known to what is unknown. For instance, in 1 Corinthians 11:15, Paul permits women to participate in ministry. In Acts 21:8-9, Philip’s daughters are mentioned as prophets, and in Romans 16:1, Paul refers to Phoebe as a deaconess. Moreover, in Romans 16:3-6, Paul lists Priscilla before Aquila, indicating her significant role in ministry. Priscilla and Aquila were both teachers, and Paul described them as co-laborers in the faith. They even hosted churches in their homes. Paul publicly acknowledged many women who were active in ministry. In 1 Corinthians 14:34, Paul addresses the administration of spiritual gifts, particularly concerning the interpretation of tongues, where there was a lack of order. Theologian Anthony Thiselton explains that "to be silent" in this context means to refrain from a particular type of speech, rather than imposing complete silence. Culturally, men were typically educated, while women were not. Paul’s instruction for women to ask their husbands if they had questions wasn’t meant to be derogatory but was rather a practical solution given the context. Similarly, in 1 Timothy 3:2, Paul’s instruction that a deacon must be the husband of one wife should not be taken to imply that only married men could serve, as this would disqualify Paul himself. In 1 Timothy 2:9, Paul emphasizes that women should dress modestly, reflecting the cultural context of the time. In that era, a woman's attire could signal certain things, especially among "call girls." Paul's concern was that women should be valued for more than just their appearance. In 1 Timothy 2:13-15, Paul discusses the sanctity of the home, not necessarily prescribing roles within the church. Women were active in ministry and worked alongside Paul, so these passages should not be interpreted at face value without considering the broader cultural and contextual factors. The Greek word "gynē" can refer to a married woman or women in general, but it has often been interpreted to mean "women" broadly. Paul's discussion here is focused more on the home rather than on church roles.
My goodness, how do you type so fast? Thank you so much for these summaries. They've been super helpful in picking what I might have missed in the video.
I can see the systematic teaching flow to bring a better perspective to this topic... I commend your teaching grace Pastey. But I feel there's still more to be explained on this topic. God bless you sir
Day 87: Oluwasegun Idowu ✅ We moved from what is known to what is unknown. In the end, Apostle Paul couldn't have been contradicting himself. Thank you so so much for explaining this Apostle 🙇🏾♂️ More in grace Sirr🔥🙏🏾
Sir, Philip had 4 daughters who were prophets. They were more than two. Thank you for this, this has been a big burden to many of us. I was raised to believe that women shouldn't take up ministry role, but seeing Catherine Kulman and co, I became confused. I really understand this better now. I'm taking ministry more seriously now. God bless you Sir. Please can you do a study on covering the hair. This is also very controversial.
100 DOD: DAY 87 ✅ I have been blessed by this, Thank you Pastey 🔥 When it comes to bible interpretation, we move from what is known to what is unknown; we know for a fact that Women were in ministry & Apostle Paul worked with women and he openly commended them and referred to them as co-laborers. So when 1 tim 2:9, 1 tim 2:13-15 seem to tilt this boat, we look at it in light of context. Apostle Paul in writing these was not in reference to administration of ministry but in keeping sanctity in families hence the reference to Adam and Eve and in 1 tim 2:9 he wanted a clear distinction in appearance & conduct which is proper for women professing Godliness...
Thank you very much sir for this profound teaching that enables us to properly interpret the Scriptures in context as regards Women's function in Church and Family.
Thank you Apostle for the clarify, I used to be confused about I Cor. 14 v 34, but now I understand the context & cultural dynamics to which it was written.
Thank you sir the explanation. I still have a few questions that were unanswered. Before Asking I need to say, I have been of the opinion that women can do ministry and be lead pastors in churches but have been wrestling with that lately because of 1Tim2:9. My questions are: 1- If the verse is talking about order in the home, does that order change out of the home. If the husband is to be his wife’s pastor at home can she then become his pastor out of the home? 2- Is Gal 3:28 not talking about “neither male nor female” in the context of salvation? Just as it also mentions Jews and Gentiles? The gentiles who were supposed to be enemies to God? 3- The women who were doing ministry with Paul were they necessarily the equivalent of what we call today senior pastors? I have to be honest here, I am beginning to be inclined to the idea that the Bible teaches male headship in the home and which cannot be reversed out of the home. And so women can do ministry and serve the Lord in diverse ways but not be “Senior pastors”. I hope I am able to get answers to my doubts. Blessings

Day 8️⃣7️⃣ of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ DOD
Topic: Does the Bible command women to be silent in church?
Texts: 1 Cor 13:34, 1 Tim 2:15.
1. When it comes to Bible interpretation, you move from what is known to what is unknown.
- The known is that Paul clearly tells us that women can do ministry as seen in 1 Cor 11:5 where he spoke about how women can operate as prophets
- Also, Acts 21:8-9 shows the two daughters of Philip who were prophets
- Also, calling a woman a fellow worker or co -labourer (as some translation has it) is the same exact phrase Paul used to describe Timothy who was a Pastor
- Rom 16:7. Though some theologians argued whether Junia was an apostle or not, the emphasis is that she was notable among the apostles as the scripture posits. She was highly involved and elevated in the church.
3. These aforementioned women held church gatherings in their homes as the church had no buildings as at the time
- So when the Bible says Priscilla and Aquila taught Apollos the word, that means they did the work of Pastors and Teachers.
- It then means that it is inconsistent to say that women were not allowed to speak in church.
4. The second rule of Bible of Interpretation is The Context Rule
- Reading 1 Cor 14:33-34, you have to understand that it is in the context of interpretation of prophecies and tongues that Paul said it should be taken in turns and for the women to be silent and not in the general context of sharing the word or doing ministry
- This is because there was a rowdiness about it which suggests that the rowdiness he was addressing in general was more particular among women who stayed separately from the men in church gatherings
- The men were more educated than women, so as a woman, if you want to ask, keep quiet and ask your husband at home and not in the church gathering which can create noise as you’d have to shout for him to hear you from where you are seated
- Mike Winger and Anthony Thistleton made a corroborative commentary that the word silent is to refrain from a particular kind of speech which in this context was the noise and rowdiness.
5. In conclusion, Paul notably worked with women in teachings and ministry in general which he openly commended them in a culture that abhors such practices of women elevation
- His statement in Gal 3:28 proves that women has a significant role to play in ministry.

Great exposition. This blessed me. Thanks and God bless ❤🎉
Galatians 3:28, 1 Corinthians 14:34, 1 Timothy 2:15
When interpreting the Bible, it's essential to move from what is known to what is unknown.

Thank you Apostle 😊
We go harder tomorrow 💪
Sir, Philip had 4 daughters who were prophets. They were more than two. Thank you for this, this has been a big burden to many of us. I was raised to believe that women shouldn't take up ministry role, but seeing Catherine Kulman and co, I became confused. I really understand this better now. I'm taking ministry more seriously now. God bless you Sir.
Please can you do a study on covering the hair. This is also very controversial.
Thank you sir. You just made this topic easy for me to explain to others.

100 DOD: DAY 87 ✅
I have been blessed by this, Thank you Pastey 🔥
When it comes to bible interpretation, we move from what is known to what is unknown; we know for a fact that Women were in ministry & Apostle Paul worked with women and he openly commended them and referred to them as co-laborers.
Well done Pastey. More wisdom and insight in Jesus name

Thank you Apostle Iren and Team 🎉❤ For this elucidation. I am being Blessed daily by your teachings Sir🙏❤️
Thank you Pastey.
Thank you sir the explanation. I still have a few questions that were unanswered. Before Asking I need to say, I have been of the opinion that women can do ministry and be lead pastors in churches but have been wrestling with that lately because of 1Tim2:9.
My questions are:
1- If the verse is talking about order in the home, does that order change out of the home.
Blessings
