@@spiralwhirlpool2366 they were playing their beginners early as it didnt matter as much and to build experience, now teams are starting to play more of their "A lineup" rather than their youngsters
Liberos are always under rated just by looking at the comment section. Like, look how liberos received perfectly so that their setters create the best plays. 🤗 Diez and Shoji are superb.

The setting of Micah is superb, he looks almost every time to opponent's court to create a strategy set.

@@patrick07124 1:30 turns head to check defender positions, 2:07 turns head again right before set to check (2:20 replays the same play in slow-mo), 3:02 again, high pass has time to check defenders before set... even in just the first few minutes of the video you can already see the habit he has of doing that. Did YOU even watch the video?

I think France didnt take the game too serious, too many mistakes and were just having a bit of fun on the ground. Not representive for the power balance between the two teams
@@gusvanhaelst1853 Earvin N'Gapeth said they are tired from too much training on top of games. I think coach Giani focusses physical preparation on World Championship to come. Anyway, team USA is a very good team, and Micah Christenson is one of best setters worldwide.

@@user-cv1hm3bk3r Dont say they are weak, but they are weaker than France, plus France has already qualified for the final 8, so they had nothing to really play for.
Great match between USA and France, props to USA for winning and coming back after 1 set, France clearly need to improve their serve reception it was horrible after first set, both Boyer and Patry need to work on hitting decisions, particulary Boyer needs to learn once and for all how to hit high hands. Aaron Russel is MVP of this match both his hitting, digging and serve reception was on point and overall USA played excellent. Hopefully France will improve in their next match!
They are the Olympic champs afterall… just had an off game, everyone has an off game once in a while. There’s a reason france won the olympics and USA didn’t even make it to top 8.

USA’s gears are now officially running. The power on those swings have definitely improved sheesshhh, blocks are more consistent, and shoji’s receives are miracle (almost) perfect. This is a solid team now. France is still a medal worthy team, just a lot of errors this game. Good job for both teams!!
I don't know about the USA's team but the French team didn't play with the regular team starters. Just at the end they made BRIZARD (the setter) and Patry (OH) play. The errors may come from that.

Great match, very impressive from a young and fairly inexperienced USA Squad beating the Olympic Gold Medalists. Id like to see some more of Jake Hanes, but it sure is nice having Micah Christensen back on the court for the red white and blue

Young and inexperienced? So how old do you think Smith, Shoji, Russell and Christenson are? They 4 are the base and the other 3 that rotate would be the young ones but they have nothing to do with inexperience, all of them have already debuted in the senior team for 2 years, some for longer... That you liked that they won is one thing but neither tell lies haha

I really thought France would defeat USA in 3 sets. They were very dominating in the 1st set.
Set 1 is warm up, ive seen teams winning set1 but then losing the next 3 sets.

Good Job USA! But the US coach needs to stop bringing Muagututia in to serve. He continuously missed his serves - in the match with Germany then now the match with France. And that was how the USA lost the 3rd set when he served into the net at 24-23.

France had a good start in set 1, USA was sleeping. A topsy-turvy score in sets 2 & 3. While USA was cruising in sets 4 & 5, France ran out of gas.

The setter of USA is so surreal!
The jump set Christianson made to win the 4th set was classic. He looked like he was going to the middle, faked with his left hand that he was dumping it over himself and then back set it perfectly to Ensinger for the uncontested spike. It seems like in every match he does something that you've never seen before. A true pleasure to watch. USA showed great fortitude to come back in this match and by the end of it the French knew who the better team was.
This is going to be a great finale!
