- James takes us through the main features of the new MUON, a lightweight, robust and streamlined backpack from RAB. Made with fastmoving hikers in mind, it's ideal for those who want to maximise pack size while keeping weight low, as the MUON incredibly weighs less than 1kg for a 50l rucksack.
The MUON also comes in a 40l version as well as a ND/narrow fit, visit our website to learn more about these amazing rucksacks |

Terrific detailed overview well delivered James. You are very good at this. 😎 It’s a shame the channel hasn’t more of a following.
Thank you. Hopefully we can get a few more views
Thanks for your thoughts! I got mine yesterday and I’m pretty psyched to give it a spin on the trail. I already shoved in most of my gear and I’m really impressed how well it handles 13kg of camping and climbing gear. Although I feel that it’s got its sweet spot, when it’s too light it doesn’t sit well on me. Also I’m not so sure about the back length: I’m way shorter in that regard then RAB recommends (42cm instead of 48cm) but apart from the shoulder padding being a little bit out of place I wouldn’t want to be taller for this pack. The only thing that might annoy me is the chest belt‘s closure. Maybe I’ll get used to „unclipping“ the hooks, but with a pack of that size I’d rather like to get out of the harness as quick as possible. On the other hand I used to own a Lundhags pack with this huge G-buckle on the hipbelt and it grew on me. Let’s see how it goes!
I’d like to add one more thing: I really love this pack for its simplicity. It’s got everything you’d want to have on a pack this size, but there’s nothing of that faff other packs come with. All the things included are made with so much love for detail and the easiest solutions you could think of. The bottom compression strap? Just one cordelette tightened by a simple tanka. Everything is removable, hence, replaceable. No zippers that could break on you. And although it’s pretty roomy (I’d say it has the same volume as osprey’s aether/ariel 65) and a neat fit, the top closure is big enough to actually reach in and find your gear.
Sure you will love it!
Great reviews as always 👍💯
Thank you!!
Great review and presentation! This is my first bag packing tent and I think I made a good choice. The side pockets are a bit loose for my liking. Anyway, I have subscribed thanks!
Thanks very much!
