UPDATE: *new AutoBoat Smart Head GPS adapter system replaces the digital head of factory motor so it essentially bypasses. Therefore it is compatible with digital maximizer motors like Endura Max because the old factory head is removed and replaced.*

Where were you last year. 😂😂. I purchased the Eudora max and the C2 troll motor to use with Autoboat. To only find out it will only work with all the features with only the C2. Now I’m going to the garage to bypass the maximizer. MANY THANKS

When I click the Autoboat install video link it takes me to a blank page that says “this video is private” and won’t let me watch anything. I subscribed to the channel, but it made no difference. How can I see that video?

Should you set the speed all the way to highest setting before removing the handle?

Thought that i had seen on your 45 minute video that you had to turn the speed to #5 before using.
    Sorry for a silly question.
    Thight lines, Ed

Yes that's for the cheaper non full variable speed motors. This one you're bypassing the whole factory speed controller. I would just pull the whole head off at this point and put a right angle fitting like they do for the Kayak mod.

Great vid! Definitely this question gets asked a lot about AutoBoat.

Can I just remove the whole head and just wire direct?

You can with new AutoBoat Smart Head. The new Smart Head replaces factory head. So essentially it bypasses the digital head.

I'm confused. I been using Autoboat GPS with my Endura Max this season and it has been doing fine? DIdn't by-pass or anything. Just have problems with GPS spotlock. It just seems to go crazy and never stay in place.

Same. Let me know if you figure out something with the spot lock.

@johngalt9324 seems like it's hit or miss. Some people I talked too has problems with it as well and some don't.

Anyone use spot lock with autoboat? Any reviews? How well it works?

The point is the autoboat is made for transom mount

I don't think I would change over a MK with a Maximizer to the AutoBoat system. Even for a 40lb thrust, you would be into everything for around 1K. For that price I would buy a TM with spot/anchor lock. Now MK C2's or similar TMs might be worth the modification.

      $2000.00 for a motor guide Xi5, $1400.00 for an Xi3, or $1500.00 for a Minn Kota Terrova.
Or $650 to make a $300 endura max with bad pwn board work like the above.
I have 4 Minn Kotas, 2 enduras and 2 endura max units.. I've replaced the "maximizer" PWN board several times on those models at $80 pop, it is a known common repeated failure point on the mk, but only if you use them. When they sit in the garage they work forever.
$650.00 for the auto boat GPS kit that includes a built in PWN 'maximizer' is a STEAL!
I can use this with any of my trolling motors instead of shelling out over a thousand dollars for another motor that I don't need.

Makes sense if you have that many motors lying around. I wouldn't add it to a small thrust motor just because it wouldn't use the product to its best potential. I certainly wouldn't put it on a brand new MK Max motor because the higher price is for the Maximizer (PWM). Haswing Cayman with Anchor Lock is affordable another option.

The other GPS trolling motor systems come with some major drawbacks. They weren't designed for kayaks or tiny boats. Even on the Xi3 MotorGuide just cut down the shaft and called it a day. It still has the foot pedal release on the bracket. How many kayak anglers want to get up, walk to the bow and stomp on a pedal? Yeah there are ways to work around that but for as much as it costs you shouldn't have to.
They're too long, heavy and come attached to a huge bracket that is a pain to mount. Except for Haswing the advanced GPS features are usually locked to the specific brand of fish finder or chart plotter the company sells and you usually need to buy extra components to make that work as well. Do you have a Garmin fish finder for Livescope and want to run a Minn Kota because their spot lock is better? Tough luck because they don't talk to one another. You have to buy a Humminbird and have another screen taking to space on your kayak. It's total bullshit.

The Haswing is junk that does not work. The MK maximizer boards burn out after about 40 hours of use, I've bought half a dozen to keep my motors going and is one reason why I have extra trolling motors. The boards were $80, now $120. When the parts are on order you buy another motor to use while waiting, or you don't fish.
The Autoboat is for small thrust motors 30-55lbs.

What model of Haswing have you used? I have owned several and they are good affordable motors. I've never had a Maximizer go out on me. The Autoboat may be quality but there are no long term testimonials yet.
