My wife and I and family watched the club race way back in 1990 at Mission Bay San Diego at the Model Yacht Pond. Beautiful set up at a beautiful race course. Remember Don Mock going out in the recovery boat picking up dead boats, going above and beyond the call.

I am from Washington State originally. I live in N.C now. I can remember as a kid in 1974 the pride of pay n pak, the miss budweiser, the o boy oberto. All those great boats on Lake Washington. Never got the chance to go to the lake, so I just watched it on t.v in those days. Great to see these boats out on the water. This has got to be a lot of fun for all. Thanks a lot for the outstanding video.

Nice! I raced nitro boats,.. In connecticut... 1985/1986, a lot of fun, i love the smell of nitro fuel burning in the morning!,.. Smells like victory!
This is awesome. I was lucky enough to see the late great Bill Muncey race prior to his death. What I would give to have a scale version of his Atlas Van Lines.

Good question... I'm not sure, but I think it's probably about 50/50. With apologies for any hurt feelings, the winners are usually wood boats
I wish for racing they just had unlimited hydros and gas-limited hydros..
some events I see 30 classes and 3 boats in each class.
That's true in many divisions. Here in our area we run scale boats only which results in some very large classes. Super fun!
You said in one of your vids that in your Club you're allowed only 1 scale model per "real" boat. In you cover picture I can see 2 Atlas Van Lines. What gives, is one Electric and one Gaz ?
I don't remember the specifics of that video, but yes if you see two identical Atlas boats then they must be different classes. On very rare occasion we'll get a racer from out of our region with the same craft as a club member, and in this case we'll let it run also. Bring your boat... Let's race!

Yes/no.... The club does not hold a race there, but a few of our racers are from that area and frequently run their boats up there somewhere. You might search for Ken Olson or Jim Whyte on Facebook and check it out!

Hello everyone. I recently got my first hydro. What is your opinion on racing with the wing assembly on or off?
In our classes you must run the boat in the same configuration that the real boat ran. With that said ... I hate wings!
I try to watch your videos so I can watch a race every time I see him you're walking around a pit area do you actually film races
