Brother: you have great shoulder mobility, and actually have a neutral position overhead unlike most crossfitters who are very externally rotated. You should consider moving your grip out slightly, you’re having to pull the bar higher than you need with that width; and you’ll be able to make contact at the hip without the slight bend in the elbow. Great movement altogether for someone who has so many movements to train rather than just snatch and clean and jerk!
Edit: I also noticed your foot pressure changing; one of the things that (most) great weightlifters do is keep even foot pressure, in particular making sure the big toe is always pushing into the ground, if you see your big toe lifting, that means you’re losing activation of your hamstrings. It’s much easier to keep tension through the posterior with active planterflexion as you’re extending at the ankle and the knee. There are some freaks out there who can get away with it, but for 99.9% of people having that big toe digging into the ground and balanced pressure over the whole lift will help use both sides of your body in balance as you’re getting to the hip!

Hi - hey thanks appreciate the feedback and will def take into consideration .. mobility you can see my daily routine which keeps my in positions - I have an impingement in my left shoulder which is why I use the pad and the arms is the first to fail a lift …I actually used to be a pretty decent weightlifter. Did ok as a master ranked 8th nationally and finished 3rd USAW AO series 3 in 2018 35-39 and believe it or not I used to not bend my arms as the weight increased. Interestingly enough and not surprisingly I’ve gotten worse and weaker as I’ve past the age of 43. 😅 check out some my other recent weightlifting and tell me what you think.. at this point i rarely just do the comp lifts and play with all sorts of complexes. This takes away the pain 😂 of realizing how weak I’ve gotten and keeps things fun and interesting… and hey allows me to PR still.
