Idk about anybody else, but I really liked the first couple of minutes of Zach, Ty, George running the camera behind the scenes. Simply because your whole frickin’ team is so wholesome. In case you were wondering, Cleeter, yes, we would be interested in shopwork content every once in a while while you’re busy doing other things!

I love how James keeps his serious face on until he’s positive everything is good, then he’s all smiles and jokes, but never before that
James fab skills and mechanic work is kinda a hack job at best, can see how bad Leroy was put together and messy compared to how Kevin does work.
@@n2vxc Well considering Kevin has a complete job and shop dedicated to fab work then yes. But James has the get er done mentality and there is nothing wrong with that. Given a time where there is a time crunch, James comes through.

They are all living the dream. Going to all those tracks with competitive vehicles that _they_ have built. Throw in some friendly banter and fun times with jetboats, mud trucks, and all sorts of other crazy fun stuff, and they are getting paid to do what lot of people would pay good money to be a part of. It's also nice that we are helping by boosting the TH-cam numbers and income.

We’ve done it in the past we’ve finished installing engines,transmissions and wiring more than once in the trailer going down the road hell buddy rebuild a engine going down the road one time and we stuck it in when we got to the track

I heard Leroy live at 40psi on the two-step in Houston. Fans went bonkers- and this was in the entryway to the burnout box where all the fans were.
Sounds like an old radial plane engine, just coughing and snorting violently, it's a beautiful sound.
I like the way the Dale truck sounds. But Leroy definitely sounds good on the two step
@@ryanlamfers8692 Totally beastly, like you said snorting violently, but in race position, Leroy growls like a beast ready to just maul that checkered flag and roar his opponent into submission at his majesty. Leroy is always the King, even if Mullet is the fastest cheetah among the fleet, Leroy is the lion king just barely even behind, pushing to the absolute limits to snag every win he can get.
I love you videos, watched literally every single one since Leroy ran his first 10 sec pass. I probably have a problem watching to much TH-cam but i have to say, if you made a podcast I would totally listen. Story time with Cleet!!!
He tried, I think he got 2 or 3 episodes out, ran into a lot of issues I think besides just not having time to do it and learn and figure out how to do it
I can honestly say if someone asked who the hardest working most honest TH-camr is, my immediate answer is ole Cleeter. For anyone who has met him in person he is such a nice and humble guy. This coming year I’m going to save for a trip to Florida to see a Cleetus and Cars

I saw that too.
I'm gonna say it again, you guys need to put overrun pulleys on the alternators so that when you upshift the belt doesn't get thrown. The overrun pulley will allow the engine to drop RPM during the upshift without trying to slow down the alternator, allowing the alternator to overrun. This will take the stress off the belt during upshift and should help keep the belts on.
If it's not already equipped with one. This is becoming the norm on even factory cars, even decoupling pulleys.
If it's not equipped with one I'd assume it'd help some. Harmonics are a bitch.
I had to machine a custom pulley for my vortech supercharger that the sides had walls to small and the belt kept popping off. I made it with a smaller diameter for more rpm's but the side walls were about a half inch tall. I know your talking about something different but it took me back 27 years instantly. It was a new formula 350 tuned port with the SC and some other goodies as well as frame ties. Ran a 11.6 but the trans was slipping very badly. It was the stock overdrive trans, i forget the name but it was known to be weak. Take Care.
@@carbide1968 I had a tune port 350 with a early ATI pro charger swapped S10 with a 5spd,then the 700r4 like your car had that was weak sauce and finally I put a turbo 350 trans in when I went to a 383. Crazy thing is Jeremy's dad did the first couple chips and I got to 11.2 before going lean on spray 😆 the 383 eventually ran 10.2s on a early haltec ecu around 2000 and it was one of the fastest true street cars around then.......but I parked it after blowing the driveshaft on slicks trying for 9s and it sat while I was in the Navy playing with jets. Funny thing is getting caught racing damn near kept me from OCS but I already had a ton of hours flying so they let it slide.

@@southjerseysound7340 oh nice times you got. Ty for reminding me of the 700r4 transmission. I think 10's were very possible with a good transmission being a full 1 second shifts. The nice part was it was brand new with ac and with overdrive i still got 25mpg highway. Do you know if the 700r4 could be built stronger? I don't have the car anymore and I'm just curious if it was possible?

@@Kmodoe I meant better as mullet is better designed to be a race car. Mullet is engineered from top to bottom to go fast. Leroy literally only has a 427 with twin turbos and cleetus behind the wheel. Leroy shouldn’t be able to go as fast as he does but somehow that far flies down the track. Mullet is the better car but Leroy is better in our hearts.

My uncle and aunt flipped their speed boat in lake Erie. When found by the coast guard they were both in the last stages of hypothermia and the ONLY reason they were found was because of their “Diehard” that was submerged for over 8 hours in 52 degree water kept the bow of the boat light illuminated! I was thinking to myself, that these guys had all summer to get Leroy ready. Why wait to the last minute? Then I realized thats why I love the channel. That's exactly what I would do and I like to watch the struggle.
The engine was at texas speed for a refresh/repair for a while. Most of the stuff Cleet has to pay for (even if its discounted heavily-he still pays) and keeping three 7-second cars going while running a YT channel. Then having a private life with family time too? Its why i love this channel as well! I have to go all dickhead on myself sometimes and remind myself that he has a life outside of what i see and enjoy.
Honestly man, I think there has and still is a huge shortage of extremely important parts that normally come from China.. Sure even the motor giants are having to close there doors because of this situation.. I hate to say it, but it would be almost impossible to find people to work for next to nothing in the US. To replace the trade deals America had with China, because that dumbass T**p started a money war with a country that owns all the business and “people” Hopefully some political party can repair this mess, before the price of Everything from TVs to Cars are going to become unaffordable because of the lack of cheap parts.. Polishing the roll cage would be a nightmare for detailers, and much more expensive than a normal body polish. It'd all have to be done by hand instead of a polisher and that means it'd take a lot longer to do, especially with all the weird angles and the top of the cage

I’ve had a Diehard Platinum in my Jeep for 9 years. I’ve abused that batter with multiple full pulls with the winch and the engine off/blown and it’s still going strong.

That comment about both batteries being made in the same factory is actually closer to the truth than Cleet even knows. Johnson Controls makes DieHard, Everstart, Interstate and just about any other brand you can think of.

Kinda like with racing grade rc cars it’s no secret that 90% of the batteries and motors come from the same factory just with different specs and tolerances (the different manufacturers are literally same address just suite a,suite b ,etc lol)

I like that Snap-on Coolant tool.. vacuums all the air out and then replaces it with coolant. If you can't get the vacuum gauge down. You have a leak! And you find your leak without spilling antifreeze all over the place..

Get a section of chain link fence. Put a few cinder blocks on top of it, and drag it up and down the driveway with one of your trucks a few times. Works like a charm
