The first mix could use a little mid-side EQ to help get that polished sound he is looking for. The best way to achieve a more polished mix and to get a little more thickness out of the low-end and Airy sound out of the high-end is to use an EQ that has an expander function on it like the Fab filter 3 in mid side mode. Push a high-end shelf up about half a DB and then use the expander function for another half a DB. Do the same on the low-end from about 65 to 100 hz. Play with the bypass to hear how this technique is working. You may also want to turn on a stereo Widener and use Just a Touch.

Route your cymbals more to center, don't take down your snares, just give more db at 7k frequency, often mixes are muddy because of snare only. In modern mixes snare is very loud
Hi Bobby. After i mix for 2 years after alot of mixes and play it through music player i just realize something. Usually i tend to have eq on the music player. the questions comes to mind, should my mixes sounds like it's already eq in my music player or should i leave it to somekind of usual "flat eq" or no eq sounding.
