I’ll always have love for Jasmine Guy, because when I saw her in the movie “School Daze” back in 1988, I wrote her a letter and asked her for an autographed picture. Props to the BC for another great convo with another legend in the game. After this along with the Kadeem interview, Ms. Guy has two of my favorite BC interviews and perhaps two of the best of the show period. The gems, the laughs and the untold stories have been top tier each appearance. Love how much 'A Different World' continues to be praised and influential on our culture. Sucks to hear them cut the ep count of such a great show like Harlem but glad she is still doing her thing. We appreciate you Ms. Guy!
Jasmine Guy is my age. I didn't go to college after HS for financial reasons mostly. I have no doubt that if this show had came on tv before I graduated, I would have found a way. Instead I lived college life vicariously through these characters ❤
Hollywood didn't have the fountain of youth back in the 90s. They were hard on our black actors and actresses. Some aged very well, but Ms. Guy is still a beautiful Queen.
Aging well is not just an outward manifestation. There are many folks her age who wished they had aged as well in finance, social supports, and legacy.
*Sadly, there is still a large sector of **_"our community"_** who are **_still very divisive_** against biracial humans.* I'm glad to see that Jasmine is receiving love and support as one of our greats. I didn't watch the interview with her and Kadeem. For a multitude of reasons, I appreciate this one.
This woman is the Truth. Unapologetic, I love the heart and soul of her spirit. So talented, I've loved this women for over 30 years and still counting 😊😊😊

Oh, my gosh. Her comment about being told her show was number two because it came between two other shows is shocking to me. I was a nerdy gay white kid in the suburbs of Northern Virginia, and I loved A Different World and it had a tremendous impact on me. I took African American literature and history classes in college because I was naturally interested in learning more about what I had learned from A Different World and *not* in public schools. The characters were funny, the performances were funny and often surprisingly moving, and the writing was bold, honest and informative. I think it was a hugely important show beyond being an entertaining one. And it's to Jasmine Guy's great credit that the show was created for the talented and stunning Lisa Bonet as a star vehicle and Guy's Whitley Gilbert transitioned from being a memorably scene-stealing cartoonish sidekick to thr heart of the show. (Although I have to say Charnele Brown's Kim is equally memorable in my mind. Some of her storylines and performances were unexpected gut punches.) And considering how diametrically opposed Guy's real persona and her Whitley persona are, she's a really striking talent who definitely deserved greater appreciation while this show aired.
I’ll always have love for Jasmine Guy, because when I saw her in the movie “School Daze” back in 1988, I wrote her a letter and asked her for an autographed picture. She scary looking. Is that plastic surgery on her face?
62 years old
I’m looking at you and you look good and well kept, so let me ask, do you think you will age as drastically by the time you reach 62? I’m just asking. Be true. Alcohol makes one age tremendously and sugar in general, true talk. Not putting that on anybody but just saying.
Jasmine is beautiful inside/out and so REAL! So proud of her and will always cheer for her 🎉
Jasmine Guy and the whole cast are Gems! I have so much love and respect for all of them.
Jasmine Guy is a real one, love her style 💯
This was excellent. My dad is a very good friend of Charnelle, and she always speaks highly of Ms. Guy. ❤️❤️❤️
She’s so full of of knowledge and amazing insight and wisdom
18:44 - I Love that she holds space to receive and retain the flowers she and even her colleagues receive. Almost 40 years later. SO frickin’ impactful!!! 💫✨⭐️❤️

One of the best interviews I’ve seen super transparent I felt her emotion
Her and the cast of A Different World , was the reason I went to an HBCU ❤
Jasmine Guy is ICONIC! I will always appreciate the impact she has had on me, the culture, black women, and the entire world. She truly deserves a garden blooming with flowers.
Guy!
Great question Envy for Ms.Guy about dance career pathway and prep! 👏🏿
Love Jasmine Guy. She’s always her authentic self
Charnelle Brown changed the world! She will never know how much she changed the mindset of little black girls everywhere!
Jasmine Guy is my age. I didn't go to college after HS for financial reasons mostly. I have no doubt that if this show had came on tv before I graduated, I would have found a way.
Instead I lived college life vicariously through these characters ❤
One of the BC's best interviews. So respectful. I like them all in this interview. More of this style.
Hollywood didn't have the fountain of youth back in the 90s. They were hard on our black actors and actresses. Some aged very well, but Ms. Guy is still a beautiful Queen.
ABSOLUTELY 💯
Aging well is not just an outward manifestation. There are many folks her age who wished they had aged as well in finance, social supports, and legacy.
she was fine as hell in Harlem Nights
As well as school daze
Even in her cameo in Living Single.
She is still gorgeous!❤💯

*Sadly, there is still a large sector of **_"our community"_** who are **_still very divisive_** against biracial humans.*
I'm glad to see that Jasmine is receiving love and support as one of our greats.
I didn't watch the interview with her and Kadeem. For a multitude of reasons, I appreciate this one.
What happened with the interview with her & Kadeem? I didn’t see it.

Much love to Jasmine Guy! She has always been a class act and I wish her continued growth and success.
I always love Jazmine Guy in interviews. She is so down to earth and has such sound views and presence.
It's Great to see her. She looks Very Beautiful, With A Brilliant Mind And Character To Match. God Bless You Abundantly Queen ❤❤❤
Being 36 ,I was this entire interview! Especially since working in tv and film 🎞 production for over 10 years.. and not being Caucasian and knowing the struggle that still exists🥲 did I mention I’m from Mississippi.. yea she talked about that too! 😭🙏😎 still looking good! Amazing 🤩 talk Ms. Guy!
Jasmine Guy is wonderful and an Activist I will always support her.
Some of her storylines and performances were unexpected gut punches.)
And considering how diametrically opposed Guy's real persona and her Whitley persona are, she's a really striking talent who definitely deserved greater appreciation while this show aired.
I love listening to Jasmine Guy when she talk!
