As I learned there have been plenty of Chinese turists visiting Japanese shrines a nobody at home cared. ZZH as a public figure he realized that he made mistake and in 2019 in his typical humble maner publickly apologized. And nobody cared. He could work with no problem. Came 2021, WOH became famous beyond expectation. It pulled fans (and money) from other shows and new shows had to be postponed (lost of profit). Then ZZH won the most talked actor of year and again pulled fame wrom stars of Tencet. A group of haters antis appeared. For the past month they were trying to smear him with anything they could find or lie about. They started with accusation of him being in secret marriage. He threatened them with a lawsuit. Finally they dug this shrine picture. On the contrary to 2019 this year all media and platforms were screaming about his crime and about him being traitor. Advertising companies got scared and dropped him, then film companies and it rolled on. His friends, family and Chinese fans were attacked on line and threatened into subbmision. If anybody online will attack you that you have to respect Chinese sensitivities, they want you to shut up. What they are doing is covering their crime against ZZH with talking about Hitler and else. They are nothing else than mafia and criminals.

But in case of ZZH - brilliance was punished while obedient mediocrity was encouraged. Idk what kind of war history the shrine was but it's surely a very sensitive topic for the Chinese. However, I believe the photos taken in 2018 was an innocent act by ZZH. He went there bc he was invited to his friend wedding. He acted in a good faith attending the wedding and later on take a few stroll/walk as a genuine tourist. How much did all of us, read about the historical place before we went there to visit? As a person who loves travelling myself, I choose a place because of the scenery and the art of the building. Afterwards, then we will read about the place to know about it further. Do you think if he is aware of the reason why the shrine was built, will he took a pic there and upload it on his Weibo? Of course, you can say he is ignorant of his own country's history but do you think he is stupid enough to do such a silly thing and jeopardize his own career? I support Zhang Zhehan 100%. I’m a Vietnamese who’s living in the US. I don’t hate China even though throughout history, China invaded our country many times. What happened was so long in the past, if I travel to China and visiting monuments, museums etc, it doesn’t mean that I’m unpatriotic. If I visited Nazi museum, it doesn’t mean that I pro Nazi. If I visit Tenderloin area where there have been many drug addicts and crimes in San Francisco, it doesn’t mean that I pro violence or drug addition. Crazy fanatics who elected an idol to the status of God, decided overnight to crucify him for a “mistake”, if we can call it that. Let me try to explain: ZZH was a tourist visiting Japan and took pictures of this shrine like anyone else would because it's a touristic place. Other thing is the photo along with Dewi Surkano. She is an idiot. But he has no obligation to know who the wedding guests were or even who she was, and yet, if he knew, he would never treat an old lady badly. This happening is nothing but a coup from other actors’ agencies trying to bring ZZH’s down, and they did. Because if it’s a photo taken 2 years ago, why are people messing with it just now? Now that he’s gaining a lot of notoriety. Now that he has all the brands wanting to sign with him. Now that he’s the first in almost all popularity top charts. So I’m asking people to stop crucifying him over nothing, because he’s a good and decent man and this ridiculous dispute between these actors and their agencies can be a cause to destroy his career. Like I said, ZZH was standing out and this was unforgivable for those actors who used to shine but weren't. So they quickly began to spread rumors to destroy his career and throw him down. Celebrities should support them, because anyone can fall prey to agencies willing to do anything to keep their celebrities on top and don't allow anyone to threaten them. If the Chinese who criticize Zhang ZheHan were so “patriotic”, how come they never memorials to remember all the injustices that the Chinese people suffered for years under communist rule? Stop being so bad and stop chasing a good person, a good son, a good citizen who was one of the first to donate money to the city that was flooded by the rains. If people stop to think just a little bit, they will see that one thing has nothing to do with the other. It's about competition for money-making of course. Well let me tell you something, Haruki Murakami is amazing, 1Q84 and Kafka on the Shore are both masterpieces that I will never forget. He's right to like and recommend these books, they are good and this is what is important. Stop searching for bad things everywhere. I am one of the thousands non Chinese speaking fans of ZZH and will stand by hi past deeds and he did not do it purposely. I can't understand some people who don't have a forgiving heart just like when our kids makes mistakes and ask for apology we don't abandon them and keep putting salt in their wounds. Okay, I don't know ZZH as an idol or actor as I haven't followed his work... I have yet to watch Word of honour. I got to know Simon Gong due to Legend of Anle. But whatever is happening to this actor is seriously very sad. I had seen glimpses of this actor in Nirvana in Fire where he played a very minuscule role as Young ML. I saw him in some old clip called Banshu legend ..that is all I know of him. But, Whatever I have seen I can clearly understand this actor is very hardworking and has been working very hard all his life. Idk what kind of war history the shrine was but it's surely a very sensitive topic for the Chinese. However, I believe the photos taken in 2018 was an innocent act by ZZH. He went there bc he was invited to his friend wedding. He acted in a good faith attending the wedding and later on take a few stroll/walk as a genuine tourist. How much did all of us, read about the historical place before we went there to visit? As a person who loves travelling myself, I choose a place because of the scenery and the art of the building. Afterwards, then we will read about the place to know about it further. Do you think if he is aware of the reason why the shrine was built, will he took a pic there and upload it on his Weibo? Of course, you can say he is ignorant of his own country's history but do you think he is stupid enough to do such a silly thing and jeopardize his own career? I am sick and tired of trolls and fanatics trying to beat us with Chinese sensitivity about the Japanese shrine. He went to Japan in 2018 for a wedding, went to some shrines, one of them the , a Japanese Shinto shrine to war dead who served the Emperor of Japan during wars from 1867-1951.
As I learned there have been plenty of Chinese turists visiting Japanese shrines a nobody at home cared. ZZH as a public figure he realized that he made mistake and in 2019 in his typical humble maner publickly apologized. And nobody cared. He could work with no problem. Came 2021, WOH became famous beyond expectation. It pulled fans (and money) from other shows and new shows had to be postponed (lost of profit). Then ZZH won the most talked actor of year and again pulled fame wrom stars of Tencet. A group of haters antis appeared. For the past month they were trying to smear him with anything they could find or lie about. They started with accusation of him being in secret marriage. He threatened them with a lawsuit. Finally they dug this shrine picture. On the contrary to 2019 this year all media and platforms were screaming about his crime and about him being traitor. Advertising companies got scared and dropped him, then film companies and it rolled on. His friends, family and Chinese fans were attacked on line and threatened into subbmision. If anybody online will attack you that you have to respect Chinese sensitivities, they want you to shut up. What they are doing is covering their crime against ZZH with talking about Hitler and else. They are nothing else than mafia and criminals.

I’d like to speak about ZZH incident and how he is being wronged. Crazy fanatics who elected an idol to the status of God, decided overnight to crucify him for a “mistake”, if we can call it that. Let me try to explain: ZZH was a tourist visiting Japan and took pictures of this shrine like anyone else would because it's a touristic place. Other thing is the photo along with Dewi Surkano. She is an idiot. But he has no obligation to know who the wedding guests were or even who she was, and yet, if he knew, he would never treat an old lady badly.
This happening is nothing but a coup from other actors’ agencies trying to bring ZZH’s down, and they did. Because if it’s a photo taken 2 years ago, why are people messing with it just now? Now that he’s gaining a lot of notoriety. Now that he has all the brands wanting to sign with him. Now that he’s the first in almost all popularity top charts.
So I’m asking people to stop crucifying him over nothing, because he’s a good and decent man and this ridiculous dispute between these actors and their agencies can be a cause to destroy his career. Like I said, ZZH was standing out and this was unforgivable for those actors who used to shine but weren't. So they quickly began to spread rumors to destroy his career and throw him down.
Celebrities should support them, because anyone can fall prey to agencies willing to do anything to keep their celebrities on top and don't allow anyone to threaten them.
If the Chinese who criticize Zhang ZheHan were so “patriotic”, how come they never memorials to remember all the injustices that the Chinese people suffered for years under communist rule? "The Massacre of Heavenly Peace Square" is a clear example of that, and other massacres that happened while the country was turning into communist.
Stop being so bad and stop chasing a good person, a good son, a good citizen who was one of the first to donate money to the city that was flooded by the rains. Concentrate on doing good, not bad, your karma is already heavy.
ZZH taking a picture in front of Yasukuni Shrine doesn’t make him someone that agrees with what the Japanese did, much less with war criminals. If people stop to think just a little bit, they will see that one thing has nothing to do with the other. It's about competition for money-making of course. I can't understand some people who don't have a forgiving heart just like when our kids makes mistakes and ask for apology we don't abandon them and keep putting salt in their wounds. Who don't have any faults in this world please throw your first stone? Just asking? Move on and don't use this scenario to destroy a person's future . It warms my heart to read all the supportive comments here. I must say that since WOH was aired I was really worried that something like this will happen. That drama went under the radar with it's BL content it was too good to be true. Okay, I don't know ZZH as an idol or actor as I haven't followed his work... I have yet to watch Word of honour. I got to know Simon Gong due to Legend of Anle. But whatever is happening to this actor is seriously very sad. I had seen glimpses of this actor in Nirvana in Fire where he played a very minuscule role as Young ML. I saw him in some old clip called Banshu legend ..that is all I know of him. But, Whatever I have seen I can clearly understand this actor is very hardworking and has been working very hard all his life. He is 30yrs old for god sake, It's not something which was handed to him by luck, he has worked hard for his success.

I am sick and tired of trolls and fanatics trying to beat us with Chinese sensitivity about the Japanese shrine. He went to Japan in 2018 for a wedding, went to some shrines, one of them the , a Japanese Shinto shrine to war dead who served the Emperor of Japan during wars from 1867-1951.
As I learned there have been plenty of Chinese turists visiting Japanese shrines a nobody at home cared. ZZH as a public figure he realized that he made mistake and in 2019 in his typical humble maner publickly apologized. And nobody cared. He could work with no problem. Came 2021, WOH became famous beyond expectation. It pulled fans (and money) from other shows and new shows had to be postponed (lost of profit). Then ZZH won the most talked actor of year and again pulled fame wrom stars of Tencet. A group of haters antis appeared. For the past month they were trying to smear him with anything they could find or lie about. They started with accusation of him being in secret marriage. He threatened them with a lawsuit. Finally they dug this shrine picture. On the contrary to 2019 this year all media and platforms were screaming about his crime and about him being traitor. Advertising companies got scared and dropped him, then film companies and it rolled on. His friends, family and Chinese fans were attacked on line and threatened into subbmision. If anybody online will attack you that you have to respect Chinese sensitivities, they want you to shut up. What they are doing is covering their crime against ZZH with talking about Hitler and else. They are nothing else than mafia and criminals.

Wasn’t Global Times recommending visiting Yasukuni shrine a year prior to these photos?
