When I decided to rebuild my old shop in octagonal form about 12 years back I was surprised at how little practical information there was to be found. I ended up working out most everything for myself, which became a pleasing challenge, but this is a very nice and simple resource. Especially of course for the more popular use of the form, a deck.
great video, thanks! do you know if the offcuts of the sides of the longest boards can be used in the next rows? also, when you calculate the surface of the boards (m2), do you need much more for this kind of design? I'm just worried about having lots of waste with all these offcuts
we do not like that because it does not have enough support footings under to hold weight! if the boards on your sqaure are at two feet boards across with footings under them at 4 feet rows of footings then yes maybe but needs way more footings for support build gabiones under them rock cages in two feet sections all across every four feet then span decks across maybe?
