    Great video Jeff! Thanks for a clear concise guide to using the Tramex Concrete Meter.

    Thanks for the video! Is there a topical treatment, a chemical agent not considered a primer or sealer that would close pores in cured concrete? One that could be used before primers or sealers?

      For concrete coatings, we recommend our moisture shield primer. It is a primer though, I don't have a great answer to your problem. Thanks for watching!

    Hi there awesome video I have a question what's the moisture level limit before you will have to use a sealer on the floor prior to install a hardwood or laminate floor

      Steve generally 3.5% for concrete coatings and 4% for hardwood or laminate. Always refer to manufacturers specs for moisture testing as well.

    Is this per ASTM standards?
    Dont you have to drill the concrete and probe test or something like that.
    Asking because i had a slab leak at my house and my restorstion comoany os using the same meter toy have to test my concrete but my insurance is saying that per ASTM they have to drill and do a probe test ?? Thanks for any help. I want to understand this a bit better and educate myself on the topic.

      Thanks for the comment!! You would have to check the exact ASTM standard for the specific application, but I doubt that this meter would qualify. It's meant for the contractor to have a quick easy way of making sure the floor doesn't have excessive moisture before they start the job. This meter has never let us down, and most of our customers use this exact one. But I'm guessing the insurance company probably wants to follow the exact wording of the ASTM standard, which would probably require drilling & probing. Thanks for checking out our channel👍

    Moisture is a poison in the coating game 😂

    If a patio was sealed too early and trapped moisture, would this tool be able to show the moisture content?

    • @DecoCreteTV
      @DecoCreteTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      probably not. it would most likely give a false reading due to the sealer. if too much moisture is trapped under concrete sealer the effects would be noticeable to the eye

    How much is too much moisture in concrete in order to install a tile floor?

    • @DecoCreteTV
      @DecoCreteTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For concrete floor coatings slab moisture content should not exceed 5%. Please check with your tile manufacturer for specs on tile floors.

    I'm surprised the meter is not digital. I trust digital more, since no moving parts to wear out.

      There is a digital version available, but it will be a little more expensive. Thanks for watching!

    So what happens, let’s say I go to a client. Too much moisture, can they still get a floor done?

    • @DecoCreteTV
      @DecoCreteTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      you would need to pick a system that can tolerant the moisture. maybe something cementitious with concrete sealer would be a better option.
