    I haven't seen Lin dan try this hard for so long

    • @melaleucarevolutiongold
      @melaleucarevolutiongold 7 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      I didn't see him try "this hard" at all. His win was certainly not effortless, but nor did he struggle like mad. A more accurate description probably should be: "This time he took this match really seriously."

    • @07kennydalglish
      @07kennydalglish 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think "this hard" is appropriate and he desperately needs this title, because
      1. he has to rebuild his reputation after he got caught cheating his wife during her pregnancy last November.
      2. he has to win this title so he is still alive in the race to world championship this year, otherwise his points and ranking is not high enough to be qualified. He got a wild card in 2013 world championship when he ranked 286 that time because he won the 2012 Olympics, but now he has to rely on his ranking totally to be qualified.

    • @XForbide
      @XForbide 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The reason I say this is because I suspect after losing to lee Chong for the past consecutive 4 games, and also losing in the Olympics to him, I think he just really wanted to beat him to redeem himself, almost to get back at him if you know what I mean.
      If you look at his celebration towards the end of the match, you can clearly tell that this was no ordinary superseries final for him. It meant much much more on a personal level

    • @XForbide
      @XForbide 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Basically, the reason he tried so hard this game is because he really wanted to prove that he is better than lee chong Wei, and there is no better way to do it than beating him in Malaysia

    • @melaleucarevolutiongold
      @melaleucarevolutiongold 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      07kennydalglish - You 're confusing what you think he needs (your own mental perception) with how he actually played in this match. These two are completely different things.
      Tell me, which specific part/parts of this match can support your claim that he tried "this hard"? What you must show is visual evidence, because as I said I DID NOT SEE any such evidence myself. I saw no desperation at all. Lin Dan was totally calm, focused, and played seamlessly, seizing every good chance and making far fewer errors than he had done before when he was playing carelessly. In other words this time LD just made sure that he would not squander away points without bothering. He didn't have to try at all -- he just brought out his natural best this time.
      And when LD brings out his best, nobody, not even LCW, will be able to block his way.

    Peace guys. We don't have a lot encounter left from the two greatest. Let's cherish and enjoy each and every of them. They have both achieved a lot. I wasn't the biggest fan of Lee and he earns my heart of over his career. Same goes to Lin Dan where a lot of people question him when he was young. Now he proved that he is truly a Legend.

  • @hoale5730
    @hoale5730 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Lin Dan is totally a real nightmare for Lee CW, mental strength is always the difference between these two legends. Lee CW is not himself at crucial points vs Lin Dan.

    Interesting fact concerning LCW: The total # of wins the he has (665) is higher than the total # of games played (wins & loses) of the top 25 players in the BWF ranking with the exception of Lin Dan with has a total of 680 total games played (597 wins). At least based on the info provided by BWF. I think that's amazing. I don't know if there is anything comparable in any other sport!

    • @ajt5284
      @ajt5284 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      xRob3rtx He wanted it, but not as badly as LCW, Chen Long, or even Alexesen. He's 33 and already two-time champion. Of course his competitiveness still drives him, but that's it. Guys like Chen Long and LCW really need a gold to prove himself or end a career-Long pursuit.

    • @JulyFourth1776
      @JulyFourth1776 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Lin Dan: 2x Olympic Champion, 5x World Champion, and finally, completed the entire Super Grand Slam. Does LCW have any of that? No, so stop saying Lee is the greatest, when clearly LD is the God of badminton.

    • @simony1029
      @simony1029 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      its not just about trying on court. its more about doing homework at every day basis. Lin Dan spended too much energy on social activities and on woman instead of training. the olympic loss just a result of that. so yes , Lin Dan wasn't try hard enough to win a third Olympic gold. Now things become different maybe. after his affair went public and severely damaged his reputation and affect his personal life and fortune. it might make him rethink that he need to focus on court to saving it ? i hope!

      Lee Chong Wei I respect both, however Lin has just won all the superseries and major titles in the world. This means he is the ONLY player to do so, So Lin is Superior compare to Lee!
      Proof: www.thestar.com.my/sport/badminton/2017/04/09/lin-dan-beat-chong-wei/
      In the article, it says : "By winning the Malaysian Open title, Lin Dan's collection of all the Superseries and major titles in the world is complete."

    • @TPerm-hj4sf
      @TPerm-hj4sf 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lee Chong Wei LCW is only able to achieve so many super series champions because...we all know Lin Dan and Chen Long did not attend a lot of these super series opens (economically and national honor-wise, sometimes they just don't justify the efforts). No one has excuse to skip world championship and Olympic, all the big stars are there conditioning and competing at their peak, that is why those big titles carry super weights compare to the smaller ones.

    • @JulyFourth1776
      @JulyFourth1776 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lee Chong Wei you missed the point, major titles are more important than superseries titles!!! Get that through your head man!

    • @TPerm-hj4sf
      @TPerm-hj4sf 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lee Chong Wei Superseries don't award enough money OK? Get it? One of the highest one, Australian Open mans single winner gets 50K, hardly justify the effort of going. BWF needs to resolve the financial incentive issue before asking players just participate everything. If all superseries pays at least quadruples, I am sure you will get LD participate in all of them.

    • @alanto4756
      @alanto4756 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Superseries are big for most player but its not the tournament to determine who is the best ,2nd or 3rd. by wining more ss than LD really mean not much. chen long have more ss than ld as well.
      example: out of 64 titles Lcw won, but 40+ are without lin dan participated. in contrast, Lcw participated in most of lin dans titles.

  • @JulyFourth1776
    @JulyFourth1776 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I was wondering, as good as Lin Dan is, (Perhaps the best men's singles player ever lived) still needs a coach? During mid interval breaks, I sometimes wonder if Lin Dan is being coached by his coaches, or is Lin Dan coaching his coaches...........
    Anyways just a thought.

    • @vincenttai8211998
      @vincenttai8211998 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      peter yuan I think a coach for someone like Lin dan has to be a good sounding board, listening and giving a good opinion. And in training it'll probably be one hell of a task to keep Lin dan in a given regiment lol, but someone has to do it

    • @hungryrice9880
      @hungryrice9880 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course he still has coaches. Just because Lin Dan is the best at badminton doesn't mean he knows everything there is to know about training and how to maintain his physique. There are coaches who dedicate much more time in studying how their players can get better than even the players themselves. Just because you can do, doesn't mean you know all. Lin Dan's coaches probably knows how to improve him, but they just can't do it themselves.

    • @jordaniumjordanicus
      @jordaniumjordanicus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      peter yuan
      Usually for the top players, they are already thinking about everything they need to do during the intervals. The coaches just help them by putting it into words, so they can think about it clearly.

    • @dukedave7
      @dukedave7 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I firmly believe that there is a lot of politics going on inside the Chinese camp. They coaches probably wanted Chen Long to win, so Lin Dan was doing everything he could at that time to tire out Lee Chong Wei.

    • @8Lightningbolt8
      @8Lightningbolt8 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's so easy to stereotype china for these shady strategies as they do have a history of doing this. However, I feel Lin Dan genuinely wanted to win. Wouldn't it be the best case scenario if the finals were Lin Dan vs Chen Long.

    While they're almost same in skills the only big factor lin dan has against chong wei is he has more time to recover, whilst chong wei is participating in more tournaments to keep his 1 ranking. Lin dan is recovering for the big tournaments. You don't need to be pro athlete to know that.

    It’s annoying supporting LD after 2016. Dude could still play fast, but only plays fast against LCW. Then he plays so slowly against Viktor, CTC, and Ginting and loses to them, but beats LCW. And then LCW beats all of them but loses to LD.

  • @user-gz7fh8vo6e

    Lin Dan always has this psychological upper hand against Lee Chong Wei, even when Lin Dan transitioned into a more rally defensive playstyle that doesn't work at all against Momota & Axelsen. LCW doesn't have that same problem and can still beat Axelsen with relative ease even in 2017/2018, while LD has been losing like crap.
    As of 2018, Momota > LCW >> Axelsen.
    But Momota >> LD, and Axelsen >> LD, while LD >> LCW.
    It further confirms my theory that while LD was good back in the day, he had LCW conveniently beating out half of the competition, and LCW never really held up to LD in any match. LD at his peak is probably the best MS player of all time, but LCW is definitely the most successful and consistent player throughout his whole career. He is the only one who could still beat the new top 5 players even at the age of 36. LD and Taufik's career ended the same way - getting totally outclassed by new players who have evolved to counter their strategy.

      Lin Dan has achieve more than LCW if you actually researched properly... Lin Dan is the first and only person so far to achieve a super grand slam and plus he's the first ti win back to back gold medal in Olympics. LCW has his points on being a consistent player winning tournaments but he hasnt won all the major ones including olympics.

      SweetAsHoney,you are saying lin dan beat Lcw head to head.The reason why Lcw became no 1 is because he won all the matches against the players(including lin dan) so he is obviously better than lin dan.What right do you have to trash talk bitter as sewage water

    • @naushaddossa1815
      @naushaddossa1815 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gin356a it's ok for lin Dan to be lower than Lcw.You are only giving me a ratio of a certain tournament,I gave you the ratio of their entire badminton career.Lcw beats lin dan by 2 titles of tournaments

    • @naushaddossa1815
      @naushaddossa1815 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      SweetAsHoney it is better if you stop defending lin dan and if you view the BWF ranking Lcw=83353/9 and lin dan =64028/10.what tho means is=points/tournaments.Lin dan is ranked according to 10 tournaments and Lcw according to 9 tournaments.in a tournamen you get a minimum of 12000 point imagine if Lcw was ranked according to 10 tournaments he would beat lin dan by at least 30000 points.so you better not embarras yourself by giving your ideas which are false.if you think I made up there point search BWF.

    • @jordanchai7313

      Ranking Doesnt mean your the best.. Being high rank only signify that you've enter in many tournaments that all. Lin Dan's ranking is around 7 yet he beat LCW in straight two sets. A unseeded player can beat a seeded players because of experience. If you have common sense you would have understand that having experience would value more than youth

    厉害了,丹哥!知道林丹比赛在第三场,由于睡的太晚了,就没有设定闹钟,准备之后看回放。没想到,睡到周日凌晨3三点多就自己醒过来了,正好赶上林李大战的直播,然后只看了第一局的最后一球,丹哥拿下了局点,接着第二局轻松取胜!加油丹哥!!!正如大波波说的,只要林丹想要的比赛,他就可以拿下。虽然有点夸张了,不过还是八九不离十吧。

      If he is useless then he couldnt have scored 19 and played so well against LD. Maybe you should reword your comment to "I am useless because i dont know how to comment properly"

      Badminton Onthebed yes I agree with you..that’s why when it comes playing with LD ..most of the time will lose cause of his mental level..but I can say that if he played with other Chinese players ..he won’t have that kind of mental problem

    Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei, two of the greatest player of badminton. Watching them play is like poetry in motion and such a joy to watch, hope to see them play against each other in 2019!

      If they do meet each other this year I doubt it will be the same. Lin Dan has been scrambling to catch up to other players, and there's no telling whether lee chong wei still has it after months of not competing. This may be the end of their era. I can barely say it.
