Congrats on the ride, I would work on your start as you got off to a bad start and was already in 148th place, get in the pens early, 30 mins before, you can join then exit and do another ride and you keep your position. Then really hammer it on the pedals at 5 seconds, but mainly at 1sec and you should fly off the start line and be with the front group. Good luck.
@JohnRanby You are absolutely right..although I guess in an iTT it doesn't matter as much as there is no draft even though there are other riders around. But I do remember thinking that everyone took off like rockets...and I thought I actually pushed pretty hard at the start...!.... Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers - Sam
Good point. I will add a section for Wheel choice going forward. Quite individual that one though as it depends on your size, weight, and also your strenght and weaknesses...but I will give an update on how I choose my wheel..that may help (or not!...as I am still learning Zwift...haha)....
Pacing is cruciale. And don't just watch your power. Even more important. Watch your speed...You do 0.2w/kg more than me but I was 6s Faster. next TT. Study the course and make a speed/Watt pace plan.
@stijnb2645 Absolutely. As I said in the vid I aimed my arrow high today...I thought why not give it a go...but in hindsight I should have been more sensible. And good point re power vs. speed...thanks!
I have zero experience ITTing or even Zwifting (still eagerly awaiting delivery on my JetBlack Victory preorder!)… but I’m curious: would it work to pace to a target HR instead of average power? It seems like you know your own engine limits pretty well already.
@jacobcarpenter3513 I have very limited iTT experience also as you can probably tell)...but I knew I would be pushing my limit today...and I pushed just a bit too hard. And you are right, the experts can correct us, but going on HR is not a bad idea. I still think you need an overall plan though...but today for example I should have knocked off the effort a bit once I started to hit 170+. I can keep that up for shorter efforts 3-5min...but then it is good night vienna. I hope you enjoy Zwifting!..It is Awesome :)
Great content and footage, mate! Just subbed to your channel. I stream my races too, so feel free to check it out. Goodluck with the rest of the sufferfest tour & see you on the Muckle F***** Yin 😂 💥
@darrenvandit Thank you very much. I remember you from Triquerta back in March! Good to see you again. And I have watched some of your streams already :) keep up the good stuff! And yes...the Muckle Yin will be...uh...interesting :)
Bra video! Kör hårt!
Tack sa mycket!

Good race! Looking forward to follow you on this tour!
Appreciate it..I hope the body allows me to complete all stages this time around...the FRR races do wear you down :)
One thing that would be nice in your preview of next stage part is if you discuss wheel choice for that course :)
