Great video, I love this new player guides. One thing that I'll probably add, when you do buy the paid select shard tickets, you might want to focus on cost 100 units. The regular select shard tickets normally don't have the cost 100 units as options (don't know if that changed already), so the paid select tickets are a very rare resource.

To Add to this video the only units you can get as your first Lvl 99 is: Ildyra (Farming Goddess), Frederika (Lightning Comp + Quicken Cheeser), Kilphe (Going to be a monster once her EX comes) , Lasswell (Ice Element Tidus without haste but can boost Bravery) , Lu'Cia (Chain Missions Goddess) , Rain (Thick Boy) , Vinera (Free Good Lvl 99 Dark unit) and Sakura (even without EX still a monster) that's is it all are pretty good in their own way

Just a suggestion to AuronJ, maybe do a beginner guide to which units are good to combo with these lvl99 starter units, what NOT to buy and which general VCs (leonis castle, etc.) to focus on maxing early game. I find these info sooo hard to find when I started playing few months ago, wasted lots of visiore on useless stuff and took me sometime to figure them out.

Ive had no problems getting a unit I want to 120; as a new player I was given a lot to work with on that department. VC, esper and gear however have been a pain. Mostly I only have my cloud to be proud of, but my tifa lacks gear, my aerith lacks a VC and an esper, and my rain lacks everything. Oh and then theres elena who at least has full gear and vc, but also needs an esper. As you can see, Im lost as to how to keep progressing. Im using normal gear but I feel its so underwhelming.
@@kreaturekie6753 No you cannot, i reroll on the daily, the only available 99 starter units are Kilphe, Rain, Lasswell, Lu'Cia, Frederika, Vinera, Sakura, Ildyra. Xiza has to be acquired through summons or with 2000 Guild medals.
Honestly, might be against ToS, but for new players I really would consider just buying a starter account for $15 that comes with a ton of resources and 300k+ vis.
@@TheUberduberdoo yes, these are accounts that someone has logged in everyday probably since release just stacking all the freebies. Normally they only played the tutorial, so there is alot of Vis the account can get.
Make sure you do an account review video before you go into "wait" mode. Would love to have a comment section in the video discussing best character/VC combos for team building and account direction. Like honestly the game is telling you to build daddy engelbert. Get Fina and another light unit online and you have a decent team option there.
Right, and I would have built Engle had my first 100 cost pull not been King Mont. Engle will still be there whenever I pull another good light unit, but that hasn't happened yet :D

Fantastic video! Lots of good advice here! My one question here is how high would you rank picking up the Job Crystal VC? Personally, I think it’s good to pick up early, as most new players are going to be using story quests to build up JP, since they likely won’t have many keys or JP rocks. Especially when they’re running double JP Story Quests.

Sorry if this is a irrelevant question but how long does it usually take for the tower to come back? Is it worth to go all in for him and consider a fire team in the future? Or should I just make Oberon rite now if i have enough visiore?
Tower doesn't come that often, haven't seen it in months. Definitely go a bit for Oberon if you can. Stars and mindsphere exchange will save you vis too.

Tower just came back a couple weeks ago in JP and was the next one we have scheduled, so 3.5 months. Rain can still be a good tank without it as SPR tanks are valuable in this meta, but he won't give much damage. Soul of Thamasa would be your next best I think
Not really, if you manage to catch a single one in all your free pulls you can literally buy 1000 shards for them for 600 paid vis. The point of this account is to show the new player experience and show it from the point of view of al ight spender.

I have a question, maybe not for a new account but for light spenders/f2p...what do you do when you start to run out of free vis content such as finishing the story, or training missions? Because that's happening to me on my main currently.
I light spend, you could get the vis packs that give vis daily for a month, those are good. Just limit your vis spending for a few weeks and you'll get a lot. Make sure you clear as much as you can like multi missions for the vis and stuff.
I always farm equipment. I never miss a piece of +5 just in case I need it later. Also, never go wrong farming the story quests. Find the fastest to clear so you can build Esper resonance etc for cheap and fast. Nobody talks about it but super worth. Finally, I multi every day. Seriously good idea
As a light spender this is the point you back off from farming visiore (because there isn't any more) and start farming whatever gear is given to us this week while collecting whatever vis you can and staying strong for new units you want. Last month someone who spent 0 dollars could have gotten 25-30k vis just for playing the new content, meanwhile they could have picked up lots of new stuff for their current teams. Look for ways to build up your older units you want to work on too.
