tactics was my childhood , fft advance a2 ,TO:LUCT,KOL, jeanne d'arc,
Sub job does remove 2nd tier abilities of your base class when you switch to a different sub job. So it isn't just additive, and you're getting abilities from other jobs slightly delayed.
You do keep gold ringed abilities no matter which subclass. There are usually 5.
Excited to see how this game progresses, hopefully they make it easier to gain materials further down the line

I agree . job enhance plus engamce your unit enhace your weaponenhace your vision cards and espers. It is a lot. I do like the game though

You definitely want to focus on one unit of each element to start off with.... but hold off on elements where your strongest unit is a weak unit. Keep in mind though, you will eventually want full teams of each element.... in like a year.
how do people get Mediena Shards? im seeing 40 to 60 UR units already.. but i cant get shard for my specific UR unit..
cant do hard mode since it requires 40lvl.. and the only way to get to 40 is via LB but then the shard is impossible to get.
@@chesster423 Alright. You got a couple things mixed up, but I'll try to help.
What requires lvl 40 is their story mode not the shard farm, which is unlocked as you progress the game. You want to be at lvl 40 anyways tho, the shard map is hard.
Stroy map is green, shard map is blue.
Shards can be farmed, but the best way to get them is to buy them in the shop. You will notice that the main shop resets every 6 or so hours & features shards from different characters when it resets, you want to buy shards for URs when they come up. This is the main thing you will spend your Vizi on. Spending vizi to pull should be rare except for the first step (heavily discounted) on each weeks banner.
Shards too slow to boost up your character? Try Awakening them as well, I have my Mediena at lvl 50 with no limit breaks yet.

Thanks for this guide. A lot of good information for someone like me who knew nothing about the JP version. Was going to focus on Medina & Sterne, bit now going to focus on Medina & Mont first & get Sterne to level 40 on the side. I got Fina for a healer, maybe I'll work on her a little bit on the side in case I need a healer.
Hopefully as this game progress, we will get Montblanc and Ritz. Probably one of the oddballs that played FFTA instead of FFT.
I mean, FFTA is the tactic games that have red mage, so YES

If you have the time (which few of us do) , be sure to let one of the cactuar in the EXP chamber survive until the all it's compatriots have become crystals. When they become purple crystals, picking them up gives that unit free JP. The tier 3 chamber gives +25 JP per crystal and I haven't seen fewer than 3 purple spawns in a run.
dont forget the normal summons u get items and shards that way too its free for 10x pull
Gilg and Sterne!!!!!!!! Holy hell I about crapped.
I'm liking game so far. One thing they don't explain is your blue diamond visores you get via quest etc.. There's actually two of them. So if you try to buy something with those blue diamond currency and you are not able to... Is because you need credit card blue Paid visores... Kinda wtf... So something to know incase you don't know that guys. 😎

As someone who went after Thancred of the XIV banner event. its rather INSANE how expensive he is, even by UR standards. literately Double the current UR banner for Sterne.

What do you mean advice? Just grab up his shards when you can, get his gun blade via the event (I’ll have a video of me crafting it), and awaken him and Lb him! Same as everyone!
I was gonna go for him but seeing the freebie memory orbs locked on high difficulty i said nope and level up Fina as Light unit instead lmao
I'm trying to focus on Mont, really like his character/personality, reminds me of Ramza. Do i only get his shards through story?

On the Formation screen, what does "Cost" and "Total" mean?

I've read somewhere that event missions may occur in which there's a cost restriction or need lower cost usage to clear mission, not sure if true
How many of the awakening materials do we need to fully max out a character? For example let's say I pull a limited UR... how many of their premium materials do I need to pull for and hold on to so that I eventually max them?
600 shards to complete max them out HOWEVER you don’t need to max a unit out for them to be OP OP everytime you LB, which you can do 6 times add 40. So 40 80 120 160 200 240!
Couple of questions about this game
1. Is this game dupe heavy? If so how many dupes do I have to pull?
2. How often do they release units?
3. How p2w is the game?
4. If I liked Tactics Wol will I like this game?
5. Jp players is the powercreep as strong as it was in FFBE?
It seems like a good chunk of time is actually working on non UR units. Will you eventually work on a video of SR and MR units worth working on along side a favorite UR unit you managed to get a bunch of shards for?
Just started playing and the chambers ask to pick more or one crystal, what crystal? Have no idea what their talking about
I think i have luck with my pulls , but now i have a problem. I'm not sure at all what team i will use.
(I just start to play im lvl 3) my units:
- Engelberto (UR)
- Mediena (UR)
- Macherie (UR)
- Rob Hourne (UR)
- Lairyu (MR)
- Y shtola (MR)
- Mont Leonis (MR)
- Gracia (MR)
Im sure to level up engelberto and Mediena but i have doubts with the other 3 of my team 😅 , UR always first ? Or good MR are better ? any idea for do a good team with this units? Thx

Do you know how many Job Memories we'll need to max out a job to Lvl 20?
For example, Y'Shola's Sorceress's Memories; 1x Green, 2x Blue, 3x Purple and I don't have any Jobs higher than Lvl 7, so I'm guessing then you'll need 4x Yellow and 5x Red? Will we need any more than that? I know you can get Yellow and Red Nameless Hero's Memories with Friend or Guild Medals but I'd just like to know how would be needed in total, if anything just for peace of mind.
I see people with level 40+ units smashing through ex ff14 event and I'm here with my 20s gasping for air dying on the floor.

You can do it!
Is chaining important in this game? Chaining was a key component of FFBE, but honestly, none of my best units from the get go have the same damage type (my best melee attackers are split between slash, pierce, and pummel). I've diversified elements, and also threw on a mage and another ranged attacker (archer) but I don't know if the inability to chain, which is still a mechanic in this game to some extent, will be to my detriment. I notice it's not really mentioned in any of these beginner guides.
i only manage to reroll for the shield guy and the mourn princess, can yshtola be medina substitude ? or should i keep rerolling ?
Thancred seems even better as a tank than Mont. Vow of Love + Jugular Rip (+ maxed Regen if the situations call for it) = so far it has been doing wonders for me dishing out damage and taking hits like a champ.
Hey guys, I got some decent pulls, but I'm not sure who to use as the last unit on my team. My current team is Mont, Mediena, Oelde, and Macherie. My MR's are Lorenzo, Helena, Grace, Ramada and Y'shtola. I think Macherie is a fairly strong damage dealer, so I figure Grace may be a good fit for support/healing.
What about limited character shards? Was only able to get Cloud to Limit 4 :/
So i managed to get Engelbert, Sterne, and Gilgamesh on my 2nd reroll... So far my units are lvl 12-ish...should i keep going on with this team? Gilgamesh feels really underwhelming as a unit right now...
Windreaver256 yeah gil is a whale unit it’s more expensive to raise him but def worth it in the end other than that Engelbert and Sterne def great

Hey Claic, just wanted to let you know that you CAN summon Ifrit in the step up, I got him and 2 other UR's( sadly no mediena) in the step up so I kept that account. Just wanted to let you know you could since you said you didn't know if you could. Appreciate you man!
You mentioned that mont and grace are better units. I have macheire and oelde. Should I focus on grace for my healer and mont too??

Did you already get some feedback from the multiplayer that some people cannot join a game and get a message error like they have been disconnected?
That happens because the room is filled up from what I understand. Also there isn’t “crossplay” so Android with android iOS with iOS etc etc

Claic could you make a video on what's worth buying with our gil in the commemoration shop/beginners shop? Or do I just blow all my gil on 3x Rainbow Vision Sphere and nothing else matters?

This game looks very cool, but I'm honestly a bit intimidated by the huge amounts of farming for pretty much everything...
might be good for people stuck at home. but it aint a side game. the grinding and amount of time needed on the phone is too much for me. its why i dropped TAC .
farming shards for multi units. doing dailys. grinding events. doing co op. it was all too much.
atleast for a side game. great if its your main game lol

Finish story, always do your 3 a day dailies in the farplane too and farm your units awakening materials whenever the X2 drops are up for them

Might just stick with FFBE. The game seems overwhelming and super complex right of the bat. I went through the beginning and did the step and got 2 Medina and 1 sturn so my account is good
Yeah its for SURE more complex in old RPG ways
When I switched my sub command on my Y'shtola it gave me access to white magic spells, but I lost the ability to cast Foul which is my big AOE damage cast that is a sorcerer spell. I thought the same thing you thought, it would just give me access to the second job's abilities. Which it does, but you lose any abilities that aren't your two starting ones from your main job. It makes no sense to me honestly. Same thing happened when I changed Mont sub command to Paladin. I couldn't use Body Slam anymore, but I could use Blade Bash. So that's another thing you have to watch out for in this game. I wasted a lot of job points in abilities I assumed I would be using constantly, and now that I know what I'm doing I'm taking him into another direction.
I'm telling you though, Paladin is the better direction for Mont. Blade Bash stuns which is amazing for pvp, and Taunting blade is a badass high damage ranged attack you get at 6 star awakening.
One more question sir, you mentioned that I need to have a time mage in my team at all times. My only time mage is phoebe which is SR. Is she worth investing into?? Thank you
Yeah totally fine IMO easier to level up etc too being an SR upgrade ASAP if you pull another though IMO

i keep seeing players with UR units past 40+ levels.
I cant even get 1 shard of UR unit and the only way to get them is via hard mode that requires level 40 unit.. but im stuck at level 30..
what to do?
They are getting up their by awakening the unit via elemental materials. It raises max level also

Continue in the story to unlock them. Turn graphics to worse version in options turn down brightness

Mate, a real question. I know we should reroll for at least 2 UR units but i found Ayaka and Ifrit (vision card) , should i reroll anyway? (i have already used ticke too)
You want units over visions at the start. I'd honestly reroll until medi and another UR preferable ayaka or stern
Ayaka is a super late game unit I think you should reroll for someone else personally but up to you

1 question. How do i set the action ability, so when i auto, thr unit will only use the skill i set. For example, Steal
You can’t set it to do this specifically but the AI will use whatever skill you make the strongest so level the heck outta steal and it’ll use it on auto

Also Claic if you see this which of the two URs should I level from Ayaka or Sterne. This was reroll like 20 and got fed up with it. Also my first URs that wernt visions ugh.

I spent 320 bucks to acquire Thancred on day one along with some fragments for him, but I fear that I'll never get him to Limit Break 6 unless I spend even more for fragments! Can I grind some for him? He's a limited time collab unit, right? Damn, I just want to have the best Thancred in the world, man!

He was free in the shop for event currency. You can also spend event currency to get shards. You will need to wait and look for his shards in the shop and maybe even be forced to refresh it to get him to shop up.

so cure is based off mag and not spr orrrr?
Cure is based on Faith, the more faith a unit has the higher they can cure and be cured for

Is Mediena better than Gilgamesh? I want to keep Gilgamesh tho
R. Miel Mediena is a strong dps mage and Gilgamesh is a strong support unit so you’re good with either or
Gilgamesh is known for most expensive unit in the game everything about him cost double amounts like his limit break for instance the amounts of materials that need to limit break him you can limit break two UR not to mention his uncapping cost double and if you need him be useful he must be at 6* which unlocked his Excalibur ability which is gonna be his main offensive skill because from 1 up to 5* you need to relaying on his normal attack yes you heard me right since your rotation is haste - normal attack because he can attack twice
Let me mention that UR are 2 shards a day and Greg is only 1 shard a day.
