    My children all grew up with CLE. They are adults now. One has a bachelors and one is in a Phd program. It is a good foundation.

    We moved from The Good and the Beautiful to CLE this year. TGATB was a lot visually. It was also too fluffy for my kids. CLE has been just the thing for them. We have been homeschooling for 18 yrs. This year we are schooling our final two. Both of these kids are on the Autism spectrum with what was known as Asperger Syndrome. The change in progress , retention and joy with the CLE LA , Math and Reading has been amazing.

      We had the same experience with TGATB. It was too much to get through, and when we switched to CLE our days went so much better. I really do love the program and have enjoyed using it the last two years.

    Thank you for sharing! We have had great success with CLE Learning to Read this year with my daughter, who is in first grade. I have purchased the next level for the year starting this fall and we will also use Language Arts alongside it this year as well. It was nice to see inside the LA units! We are looking forward to it😊

    I love CLE! I have been doing their Math with my son for 3 years. We added Reading 2 years ago, and we all love it! I did Learn to Read with my daughter, and then Reading 1 and we enjoyed it. It was a lot of book work, so I am glad she was older. We are continuing Reading 2. If you look at it, it has a lot of language arts, phonics,ect in it. I tried CLE Language Arts with both my kids at different times, and they both felt the lessons were too lengthy and boring. I love the way they are laid out, but school should be fun. We tried a different approach this year, but they both requested Reading again.

      Oh, I also forgot…we do CLE Bible as well.

      I love CLE too. I just switched to their math for my kindergartener and it has been SUCH a blessing and so much better than what we were using. I love what you said about their reading. I've heard great things about it, but I'm not sure my daughter is ready for it. I'm definitely going to keep it in mind for the future though. What you said sounds wonderful! Thank you!!

      Have you found another Language Arts they enjoy more? Too lengthy and boring are the common complaints for my 3rd and 5th graders.

      I've really been happy with their curriculum. I just started their math program with my kindergartener as well! So, is their reading program what you used to teach your children to read?

    I love that you mentioned doing the light units back to back could get a little boring.( that is a good heads up). It makes me feel better about my choice to pair CLE with English Lessons Through Literature by Kathy Jo DeVore. ELTL has poetry , copy work picture study and classic literature selections incorpated into the program. ELTL is a very gentle approach to LA. I am thinking about using CLE as a supplement to make sure my little person comprehends all the concepts. Thanks for the through review!

    • @simplylearningtogether651

      I'm glad that was helpful! I think the choice to supplement with something else is great! We did that too and it was much easier to get through the units with good attitudes!

    Thank you for sharing, do you have other CLE vlogs? I am teaching 2 kids at once could I use the 1 test for one kid then the alt test for the other kid? because we do them at the table so it would help?

    • @simplylearningtogether651
      @simplylearningtogether651  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely could use the alternate test as an option for a second kiddo! I don't have any more CLE vlogs just yet. I've only started uploading videos for the last couple months, but I do plan to add more soon! I hope they are helpful!

    What is the other writing program u utilize? My lil ones need the extra for this. Wanting to know a good one. ❤️

    • @simplylearningtogether651
      @simplylearningtogether651  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not use any extra writing program. I bought one not knowing CLE had writing assignments already incorporated in their curriculum. The program is called WriteShop. I can’t say anything about it, because we didn’t use it. However I did feel like CLE did a good job assigning a variety of writing assignments for the level we had.

    Literally just switched curriculum this school year to CLE heard so many awesome things about it! We are fellow Sonlighters.❤️ Did u purchase the extra items that are recommended but not required to utilize it? I’m debating if I should purchase those items. TFS!

    I just saw CLE and the program looks good but when I saw the pictures I thought this looks like Amish ? But I read that they are Mennonite . I am looking more into it to see if hopefully this will be a good fit for us

    • @simplylearningtogether651
      @simplylearningtogether651  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you are correct. It is published by a Mennonite company. They explain their beliefs in detail on their website if that helps. Although some of my family's beliefs differ from theirs, it never interfered with our learning. We were very happy with the program.

    • @simplylearningtogether651

      Yes it is. I believe the level 2 adds in a writing component as well. It’s been a couple years since we used this one so double check their site, but I believe that’s correct. Handwriting, grammar…it’s all in there.
