Rene, I grew up in central Florida and have said several times how envious I was of my Cuban friends, they’re families, the parties they had and of course the food. There was a closeness, and their friendships among other Cubano’s was enjoyable to see. Great people. Did I mention how much I miss the food? Haven’t had a good bowl of black beans and rice since I moved to Atlanta. LOL!

Armand Assante should have been a bigger star than he is. Antonio Banderas certainly succeeded. It baffles me that Assante didn't have the same success.
I forgot the story here: did Armand love that girl, or was.he just trifling with her to bug his brother ? And didn't his brother marry her, but really loved the girl in Cuba ?
This is the scene from the movie "the Mambo Kings" where Cesar Casillo dances with Dolores Fuentes, the Lady Nestor met on a park bench in NYC, and later married. The business offer in the interlude was one of the gangsters who was recruiting for his stable. This was the type of domination Cesar had always fought so hard to free himself and his "lost in love" brother Nestor from. Why was this man not as big as Pacino or Deniro?????? He’s completely captivating😍😍😍
Armand Assante
Yes he IS, Armand Asante is TOO SEXY for words 💝♾.
Good question. Maybe his "politics" don't agree with the rest of Hollywood?
I totally agree!!
What an actor?!❤
One of my favorite movies of Armand Assante! He was made for this role. I didn't know he had such a nice singing voice. ❤️
Armand is a charismatic force of nature in this scene, when he did that overhead clap; I was like yeah yup he's the Mambo King alright
So phenomenal, great chemistry and sizzling dancing.
The most underrated actor of all time
He played the best John Gotti alongside Anthony Quinn.
This scene makes me proud to be Cuban!!!!
