A hike to a swing set in the wilderness will be remembered long after thousands of workdays in a cubicle have been forgotten.

It is okay to be childlike....and that's what this was. It was beautiful. I think it is wonderful when grownups can be childlike in their amazement at the grandeur of nature some of us can't get to anymore. We get to be childlike with you. Keep going while you can. God bless you and keep you.

Love those drone shots. I think those take some dedication. Maybe not as hiking back to get the camera. But I saw some of that in this video too. Great work on the anticipation. Sunset was beautiful. I half wish you got the sunset at the swingset.

DEFINITELY wished I'd gotten the sunset, but solo and in unfamiliar territory, I couldn't risk it. But now that I know where it is.....Still won't beat those sunsets off the Washington coast.

Voiceovers are the bane of my existence. This was probably 6~8 sentences, and it still took me probably 10 takes. I record them sitting on the floor in the closet, talking into the clothes to muffle the reverb. Feel like an idiot, but it works.

I think you hiked to this: Come experience the sport Mecca of the Mazatzals, the Swing-Set Mine. Actually it is an abandoned mine site that, my guess, a family once mined. The forest service has been cleaning up various sites, so come and see it before it is gone. We’ll hike in about 5 miles on an old Forest Service road that is no longer maintained.

It’s kinda funny how quickly I recognized forest road 201. I’ve gone there multiple times with my dad. Maybe I’ll check this out with him sometime in the future.
At 1:05, you can see a road that peels off to the left. That road is FR-201A, and it eventually meets back with FR-201 further up. I actually hiked about 3 miles of it with my dad from the north end. It travels along a ridge between the two forks of Sycamore Creek, and it has some of the best views of that stretch of the Mazatzals, especially of Saddle Mountain and Mount Peeley

Maybe a little odd.....The tent is OK. Easier to set up a larger tent when you're solo, for sure. It's one of many cheap Ozark Trail tents we have for when we go camping with the family. Sometimes it's nice to have an oversized air mattress and, for this trip, the tent did great.

At the time, there weren't any fire restrictions anywhere. As far as camping I just kinda....camped. There were better spots but someone was in another one (they left later that day) or the side roads were a little rougher than I wanted to take on. When you map it out, just search the website of the forest it's located in for any restrictions before you go and you should be fine.

I saw unexplained lights when I camped on top of Weavers Needle. Probably airplanes, but who knows? Tina and I were just talking about Fire in the Sky and how that was in AZ, actually. I'll pass on that experience, if possible.

You know, I have gotten a few of these comments and I'm always like "What does IBTAT mean?" I found him, looked at his most recent video and he not only opens with a coffee montage, but he actually uses the same music I used for a coffee montage for MY latest video. I'm going to have to start watching his stuff.

You cant be hiking up a 40 degree incline with a 40 lbs backpack for 40 miles all the time. Its ok to unwind and just be foot loose!
