@@Bornheck It was fine when the series was starting out, since it was new at the time. It was also fine in Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Generations, since those were anniversary games and Green Hill Zone hadn't appeared for a while. It wasn't as fine in Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces, since it had appeared recently, and was showing up twice in the same year. The fact that it appeared _again_ in Encore Mode didn't help.
@@SharkLordProductions Mania kinda gets a pass because it was another big retro anniversary title, but Forces was definitely crossing the line. "Green Hill's looking a lot more like Sand Hill right now."
Funnily enough, I never think of Green Hill Zone when I think of Sonic music - it just feels so different from the whole later style established with Adventure onwards, so silly in comparison without the same kind of speedlike thrill and intensity. This cover finally makes it sound like a Sonic song in my eyes, and a darn good one at that. Bravo again, Jonny! Looking forward to Gourmet Race after the Zero-Two remake bamboozled me! XD
It's because this particular cover is based on Sonic Advance 3's "Sunset Hill." Just in case, the Sonic Advance series was the post-Adventure era 2d platformer games.
This remix of Green Hill Zone made me cry out of joy, cause this captures Sonic Personallity so much especially Classic and Adventure era fans, another reason why it's just great to be a Sonic Fan
Honestly I would’ve loved if the cover had more elements of Sunset Hill in it. I don’t think I’m alone when I say that I like that version more than any green hill.
Duuuude this cover is fucking NICE. It has so, so, SO much energy as any Sonic song should. Absolutely top of the line example on how to play just slightly ahead of the drums to create the sensation of going, or needing to go fast. Reminds me of hearing ASH covering Suck a Sage from Guilty Gear, not many people can play this far ahead of drums without tripping over the edge of just sounding out of sync, seriously amazing job. I mean I know editing would help a whole lot in this instance but still, great editing in that case, hahah.

Nice! Sounds a bit like your old Green Hill remix, I'm still shocked to see a full remix of it considering it was in Blast from the Past, GaMedley, AND the second Sonic Fan Medley. If there wasn't that hint from the Project One reveal trailer I would have never guessed Green Hill would make it in. Gourmet Race is next, ever since the 2014 version released I was wondering if you would ever do a version of Gourmet Race that sounds like the one that plays on Fountain of Dreams from Melee. Probably not the approach you'll go with but an interesting idea I had on my mind for a while.
So is the next song Gourmet Race, or Fountain of Dreams? Because both of those are interconnected. Fountain of Dreams was remixed and sped up to make Gourmet Race, in case you didn't know. You see, Fountain of Dreams is from Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land, which takes place before Kirby Super Star. Kirby's Adventure originally called it the Dream Spring, and the music was for a battle with Dedede. After the game was re-released on GBA, the name was changed in the remakes, as well as in SSB Melee. So if you didn't know before, you know now.
Hey... Thanks for all of the remixes that you’ve given us I have 2 requests.... I’ve been waiting for these two for a while. The Great Tower Showdown from Super Mario 3D World And Void Termina from Kirby Star allies I hope you heed my call. Happy Music playing to you Atama!
Odds are that due to the popularity of the request (for some reason), he will be doing it at the *terminus* of 2019, like he did the previous year with the Darkest Lord
