Happy New Years Eve, everyone! I hope that all of you are safe and healthy! I wanted to drop this video before the new year because I've been receiving a lot of questions on my TikTok (tiktok.com/@misako_envela) about how I obtained my temporary resident visa in Mexico. I hope this answers most of your questions and provides a bit more clarity about the process!

You forgot to mention that you can also provide history on economic solvency. We are going the financial solvency route. We need to have 45,000 in the bank for 12 previous months per person!

We decided to come and tour different parts of the country for a bit to get a feel of different places. important: temp residency has tax implications. you have to file monthly here on your worldwide income in order to stay compliant. you'll need to get an RFC (the one that fits worldwide income only) and constancia in order to renew it.

How much do attorneys in Mexico typically charge for help with temporary resident visa paperwork?
It is relatively cheap-like 250-500. It isn't required but sometimes they help because they know how to do it correctly

Thanks for this information even though the USD$1700 eliminates me. Now I can focus on Colombia and Ecuador where you only need USD$800 for a retirement visa. Congratulations on your Spanish as that opens up the culture for you.
You’re welcome! 🙏🏽 Other visas might have a lower minimum monthly income, I just know the rate for the temp resident visa! Either way, I’m excited for you and wherever you land!! ❤️❤️❤️ And thank you, I completely agree that learning the language has opened me up to learning so much more about the culture.
The income requirements are different at different Mexican Consulates in the U.S. Although they were supposed to go up in 2022, I'm told many are still using the old numbers. For instance, San Diego's minimum monthly income was $2070, but Chicago is $1505, while New Orleans was $1700. Detroit was $1634, but Indianapolis was $1416. Each consulate has their own web pages and lists their minimums. Shop around! Good luck!!

I keep hearing that these new visa requirements don't apply to Baja California Mexico .So I guess if you don't meet the income requirements and still wish to live in Mexico Baja California Mexico is an option for you.

Not intimidating at all! I was alone in the meeting but he was outside the building waiting for me to make sure everything went smoothly 💛 hope this helps!

Since when are they asking for visas to American citizens in Mexico, you only need a passport to enter and get back to the states, unless you are going to work.
All foreigners have to apply for a visa if entering further than the border cities.
Damn I didn't know they were cracking down.
