I use the 3L version of this bag containing a Leica Q3 (can crop to 90mm) , extra battery, some filters, iphone, drivers license, keys, lens cloth.
I have the 3L version of that bag, perfect for an X100, Pocket 3 and small accessories.
You’re right, smaller set ups make a huge difference in terms of weight and practicality.
Excellent video 😊!
Very good video and I totally agree. I'm in Venice right now. Only took a slingbag with the 50 1.2, the 70-200 2.8. and a flash. Best desicion ever.
I've used a messenger bag for years. More than enough for a most of my photography. I only use a backpack when I'm doing a shoot with a model and need more equipment.
I guess it definitely depends on the style / type of shoot.. but I have always found it hard to ditch the backpack in the past!
@@TKNORTH There's always the fear of leaving something behind that you might use 😆
This is definitely it 😂
Some great shots and footage here man! I got myself a PGY Tech Sling bag about a year ago and use it 90% of the time now. Definitely feels less constrained than with the back pack.
On point re: benefits of a sling. Have two 6L slings myself. Recently on a trip to Rome decided to try a Wandrd sling, which is slightly bigger than the PD with a little more space for both the R5 and a leica film camera. Worked like a charm. Wasn’t as heavy as I anticipated. The pouch at the bottom proved to be invaluable carrying a small umbrella in the cold spring rain. So many cool choices in the sling market. Nice vid!
They definitely make a difference! I quite like the 6L limit of the PD at the moment. Allows for enough, but avoids tempting me to try force more gear into it haha.
I'm sorry TK but the SSC Napoli jersey in the thumbnail???? like???
haha thank you dude, much respect!
28mm pancake is a nice one to have
I have been using the 6L PD sling for years. Awesome for travel! I usually just keep my RF24-70 mounted to my R5 in it and a flash for indoor events or my EDC for outdoor activities. Also, being a dad, I wanted something lightweight and fast as I very often take my sling with my camera almost everywhere we go. Other than that I only have a huge LowePro 450 for wildlife photography.
I use the PD 3L with s Fujifilm XT5 and 2 lenses: Fujinon 18-55 mounted on the camera & the Fujinon 70-300 plus extra batteries (which I usually don't need on one day) plus cleaning stuff in case I would need it...
Great setup man. I’ve been running similar setup but gone even smaller using fujifilm xt 4. Osmo is a good addition I should looks at.
Nicely timed. I’m off to UK,Spain and Portugal in a week or two. I looked at a back pack with side access (Shimoda) but it’s a lot to carry all the time. Agree that a back pack to carry a couple of cameras, lenses, filters, film etc then a sling in the suitcase for everyday. Thanks for this. Appreciate.
So welcome and enjoy your trip 😊 I definitely enjoy this option, as you can still take a few different options overall but switch up what you put in the sling day to day.. which is always nice 🙏
Just leica q2 = 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm + rf 70-200. And done !
Nice video as always bro, I’m thinking about down grading from a 10l sling to a 6l sling
I found my set up a bit too heavy in Korea
Thanks matey! Yeh even the 6L if I load it up enough (throw in the 70-200 with the 50mm) I definitely start to feel it weighing me down after a while 😂
I need a new camera soooo bad 😢 very nice video too!!
No arguing with that, cheers!
Most of the time I take my camera with one lens on it and a battery and that is enough for a day of photography for me
That always feels good! I still do this on some casual days, but I also find the sling not too much more effort than just the camera. Nice to be able to store other odd and ends sometimes as well!
@@TKNORTH makes sense, for the days I want to shoot film I bring a bag to put one or two extra rolls of film in and I also bring my digital camera (with a different focal length lens on it) in a little bag just in case
You should look at the Wotancraft 7L Pilot……. I think you would love it!
Oh cheers I will take a look 😊
@@TKNORTH …. I think the style would be great for you! With your loyal followers I’m sure Wotancraft will set you up with a great bag.
Less is More 👌
Holds true for me!
This minimalist doesn't mean light...or cheap. My walk-around kit is the rf 50 1.8 and the rf 28 paired with the RP. Small enough for a 3L sling, it fits in my glove box. Always ready.
Certainly not cheap - but still very much a professional kit that allows for high quality video at the same time. Coming from someone who has often carried x2 full-frame bodies , always had a tripod, sometimes a drone, it's still very minimal for me 😂 And the weight is very easy for me coming from a large backpack for years. But agree that's different for everybody. I have certainly thought about swapping out my 50 for the 1.8 - but its just such a good lens I can't let it go.
I tried downsizing to a point and shoot camera but the R5 with the 50mm is way too good.
Nice Video. What are those Sunglasses? :)
Thanks so much! Actually just from Uniqlo haha like most of my clothes 😛
What strap is that?
The PD 10L is insufficient most of the time with Canon RF gear. I shoot Canon - R5 and R3 - and one body + 2 compact lenses is the best I can fit. The recently launched RF 24-105mm f2.8 is a perfect example of the constant tension between weight/size and carry-ons. That lens and the R5 barely fit inside the PD 10L sling bag, essentially forcing me either to walk around with just that lens or revert to a backpack. Unsolvable dilemma
Which presets are you using in the photos from the video? :)
Mostly the same one from the CineFilm pack, it's a new one I added in called Haru :) Few tweaks depending on the photos, but often just exposure / shadows for these ones!
What about the corded neck strap? Source please? ✌️
I picked this one up from Etsy! I believe the store name was BokehCameraStraps if you want to find it ✌️
If you really want to carry less, then switch to a rangefinder camera. No bulky lenses, just small ones, that fit into jacket pockets. I've three lenses: 24, 50 and 90 mm, all with the same filter thread. No sling bag needed at all. Keep on rolling.
I’ve got a Fujifilm X100V. Absolutely, much less to carry, and I love it. But, it’s kinda limiting to me sometimes.
I often do if only taking stills! This setup is definitely more aimed at both photo and video - as I still use my R5 a lot for all sorts of video as well. I often take my X-Pro 3 (not a true range finder but close enough) for more casual photo days, but personally still opt for the sling compared to pockets, even if only for one extra lens.
If only someone else made a FF digital rangefinder that didn't cost at least $5000.
No rangefinder system cameras are more light weight than many mirrorless Cameras, I have never like rangefinder cameras ! With a EVF, you get what you see !
That Casetify case does not suit your minimalistic style
