Yes, very consistent velocity. It must have been very good quality manufacture to start with. I know how it's been stored for about 1/2 it's life as it's been in an ammo can in my basement for that time. As for the other 1/2 while it was presumably in Spain it must have been in a nice cool warehouse.
It's mighty cold here today, something like -25 with wind that makes it feel closer to -40. We should trade you some cold for some heat and we would all be happier! Thanks for the comment, and take care!
Yeah it has held up quite well, sure fire and quite consistent in velocity. Not sure if the so-so accuracy was the ammo, the rifle or me. Most likely a bit of all three.
@@314299 I've got a Astra M1921 made in 1936/7, and a Star Modelo A Super from 1950. No Destroyer, unfortunately. Looks like I still have 17 boxes from 1962, Nine from the early '50's, six post war '40's, and another eight war time '40's.
Interesting gun, I almost picked one up a few years ago when they were everywhere for a decent price. The only reason I didn't was the strange ammo but I hear there are some in 9x19.
I have always liked the Destroyer. Not sure what is so appealing about it but they sure are neat. I think my RCBS 9mm luger dies can also load 9mm Largo so with the proper brass that would be an extremely cheap rifle to shoot with a 124 grain hand cast bullet.
I have heard of folks using 9mm Luger dies but the Luger round is tapered while the Largo is much more straight sided. I do my Largo reloading using a set of Hornady 38 Super dies and they seem to work just fine. They are indeed a cheap little carbine to shoot - if you can get primers for a reasonable price!

Those are rare as hens teeth in the US. I know it would turn into a comment disaster but I'd like to hear the story about what happened to your semi-autos.
I thought they sold a bunch of Destroyers in the US of A. As for the laws/proposed laws there has been some movement due to grass roots pressures and a lot of the proposed stuff has apparently been withdrawn. Suggest you check out the CCFR (firearmrights.ca) to keep up with what is going on. Discussing such here is just "preaching to the choir".
@@314299 ya they are imposable to find.. there are at least 1000 bolts out there that need an extractor. I am looking for an extractor that might just work ..stay tuned 😁
Yeah, new to me at any rate. The poor old "Shooting Crony" was starting to act up and I could not rely on it so when I had a chance to purchase this new one I figured I ought to.
Correction to the video I say at 1:10 that the mags hold five rounds, however they hold six.
Very consistent velocity considering it’s age, must’ve been stored very well. As always cool video and thanks for the upload.

Extremely consistent velocity for 60 year old corrosive ammo!
I thought so too. I really should have done a recap of the ammo velocity/spread/average/standard deviation.
hell ya! Nice to see you still posting content all these years
Yeah I never learn! Thanks for popping by to check out the video.
Never had a chance to shoot a Destroyer. Nice to see it in action
They are a fun little plinker, no recoil to speak of and not very loud either.
🇦🇺😎👍Good stuff….. how cool is that snow , we’re sweating our asses off down here on the prison island….love the 9 mm bolt action….great content🏁

@@314299 🇦🇺😎👍Last week it was 45 deg cel on the slab at work at 2.30 pm. Take care.
Ammo held its own well for it's age. And the rifle is sweet.👍👍
Yes it is doing well for the vintage, no hang fires or duds.
Looks like a cold day at the range ! 🥶👍
Yeah was cold enough. This footage is actually from last year. One thing about the cold is that one is more likely to have the range all to yourself.
good looking ammo for 60 years old

I've had pretty good luck with surplus Spanish 9 Largo ammo. Still have a bit, but I'd have to dig out the can to check production dates.
Shoot yours in pistols or do you have a destroyer also? Be interesting to hear what date yours is. They made the stuff for a long time.

Thank you.
Always thought those were cute lol.
They are a dinky little thing. A bit of shame that they are not in regular 9x19mm.

Yes there are supposedly some around in 9x19 however they seem to be quite uncommon compared to the ones around in 9mm Largo.

I want one of these so bad. Especially one of the 9mm lugar varients
The 9mm Luger chambered ones are quite uncommon compared to the Largo chambered ones.

Love the "destroyer" Carbine I need a extractor an a collar for mine. Gonna make a video on mine this week. subed ya too.
Best of luck with finding an extractor, replacements are supposedly very hard to locate.

Does anyone know what I can get some of the samples for my largo 9 mm

Great video as always. I see there is a real shortage of razor blades in Canada!!! Thank you for posting.🙁
Gotta keep the old face warm! It was -27 today and there was the wind chill on top of that.
You know I’m just teasing, I’m in Los Angeles CA, lowest here in the am is 32 Fahrenheit, can’t take it.
314299 hello i would love to see how the EXTRACTOR fits on the bolt.. mine broke when shooting.
Great video
Thanks.
