      You say this as if he was your grandfather. George wouldn't approve of this nonsense, because he's dead! passed on, passed away, expired, departed, gone, no more; late, lost, lamented; perished, fallen, slain, lifeless, extinct; informal(as) dead as a doornail, six feet under, pushing up daisies; formaldeceased; euphemisticwith God, asleep, went bye bye!!

      BlySS93 If the Christian God exists, or even the Islamic version, George Carlin is most definitely in hell - in fact, majority of the cool people that have existed would be in hell. But of course, the most likely explanation is that George Carlin is truly non-existent and only his works and memory of him exist. His brain would have rotted away now.

      Descartes Rene Everybody is going to hell really. Or a version of hell, almost all gods are dead from the ancient times, and they could be the real gods, or maybe it is the one "god" in which case alot of christians are going to hell also. They only way cool people like Carlin are going to go to heaven is that we all have it wrong and there is like a cool god who only accepts generally good people, who understands we are humans and are flawed.

    I'm twenty, this normally has no weight. The reason for mentioning this is for as such; Carlin has been part of my life for roughly 8-9 years now. Needless to say, I've grown to share his view on the world more and more with each passing day. The man is a genius spreading his knowledge wrapped up in a gift with a pretty red ribbon on the top. The ribbon known as comedy, the butter to help swallow the dry crusted reality that's been for decades. The same reality that the common civilian has grown to ignore and even accept in time passed.

      +Knight Solaire of Astora I agree with everything you said, but your metaphor makes no sense. You go from gift-wrapping to butter-swallowing

    • @Aelethil
      @Aelethil 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our gentleman carlin was a truthbringer that wrapped up the truth into a gift called comedy.
      Picture back to when you were a child, your grandmother gets you a pair of socks for your birthday, "Happy birthday, Bobby!" You see the present sitting next to her on the couch with a pretty red bow. You get excited the present looks gorgeous but then you open it and it's socks. You know, that thing you have too many of, but can never seem to find? You try to hide your disgust for your grandmother for the time being at least.
      Now the "Butter swallowing" Part you're receiving from my small wall of text, ever have a really stale bagel? Or a piece of bread that was in the toaster a bit too long? Say it's somewhat burnt, yuck, dry, crusty, you don't want to eat this! Well, this is the last slice of toast you can make without going to the store.. God forbid you go to the store now, it's 4:36 in the afternoon! You should be getting ready for your job!
      So you decide to take a bit of butter from the fridge melt it down and put it on the slice of toast for the sake of softening it up, giving it a bit of enjoyable flavor, in an attempt to make this burnt piece of bread somewhat tasteful to your mouth.
      It's no small feat, Carlin has taken the knowledge he's accumiliated up over the years, about how hard we're being fucked in the ass by the man upstairs, (the government of course) And knew if he just flat out said it he'd be arrested, killed, exiled... So he chose to use comedy as a way of comveying his message to the people. About how bad it really is. Comedy makes you laugh til you understand the dark side of the situation. Annnd the buttered bread is how your brain processes the information given to you. DO you smile? Or cry. You smile, because of the "butter" or "gift"

    On the subject of stuff, here is a wonderful quote from the now almost forgotten novel Three Men In A Boat (to Say Nothing of the Dog) by Jerome K. Jerome. Wish more people thought along these lines:
    “How many people, on that voyage, load up the boat till it is in danger of swamping with a store of foolish things which they think essential to the pleasure and comfort of the trip, but which are really only useless lumber.
    How they pile the poor little craft mast-high with fine clothes and big houses; with useless servants and a host of swell friends that do not care twopence for them, and that they do not care three ha’pence for; with expensive entertainments that nobody enjoys, with formalities and fashions, with pretence and ostentation, and with - oh, heaviest, maddest lumber of all! - the dread of what will my neighbour think, with luxuries that only cloy, with pleasures that bore, with empty show that, like the criminal’s iron crown of yore, makes to bleed and swoon the aching head that wears it!
    It is lumber, man - all lumber! Throw it overboard. It makes the boat so heavy to pull, you nearly faint at the oars. It makes it so cumbersome and dangerous to manage, you never know a moment’s freedom from anxiety and care, never gain a moment’s rest for dreamy laziness…
    Throw the lumber over, man! Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need - a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing.
    You will find the boat easier to pull then, and it will not be so liable to upset, and it will not matter so much if it does upset; good plain merchandise will stand water. You will have time to think as well as to work. Time to drink in life’s sunshine.“ Boy, oh boy, dear late George would've loved that!

    • @ribbs06
      @ribbs06 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't know that. he has a fowl mouth and doesn't agree with God. do the math. Anyone with any intellect knows this world sucks...all he did was make jokes about it and also made fun of Christians. so for you to say he's smiling down on us right now....says you think he's in heaven because everything good goes up and if it is something bad then it is downward. I'll tell you right now if he didn't accept Jesus Christ as his lord and savior then he is probably not "smiling down" at us. Think about how negitave he was. It's true our world right now is a pathetic worthless lust filled homosexual dirt pipe piece of crap. to be honest I know that it's breaking Gods heart.
