The most important things I have taken, and adopted, from subscribing to your channel is the use of humectants. Glycerin water, aloe, and my new steam cap. All part of my new 2024 routine, due to your channel, and my hair is loving the moisture retention! I thank you for sharing some valuable tips.

You’re right! Everyone’s method doesn’t apply to all! I work out 5 days a week…most styles that last for others doesn’t last for me so i learned to listen to my hair and so far my method is good 😊 for me thank you for posting ❤

Excellent Point Coilry Dear!!! Ive been OBSESSED as of late with my ambunu/ground cloves diy hair gel! It's so PERFECT because it last about five or six days as a decadent humectant hairbliss gel and when it become ruunny, i just lean my head over the tub and pour it over my 3wk old diy fax locs!!! Making a new batch rn. Oh and i use grease and oil DAILY while protective styling and i use my kaolin clay based shampoo bar and it does the joab withrobbing my hair of moisture!!! Castor is an OG humectant Sis! 😊

I haven't watched the whole video yet but product build up causes dry hair too. I had to use a clarifying shampoo followed by a moisturising shampoo to eliminate the dryness.

Thanks for this video. You inspired me to finally buy some cold pressed castor oil. I've had some very authentic Jamaican black castor oil for over a year (still have left most of the 16 oz container I bought at a fair from a Rastafarian brother) and have resisted buying an 'inferior' version of castor oil even though this version is just not something I use often. I think a colorless, odorless version is simply what I need to get me to actually use it regularly.
I definitely notice the difference between using a shower filter or not, for hair and also skin softness. I really dried out my hair using a semi-permanent hair dye about 6 months ago and still haven't come back from that. I plan to try a keratin treatment next weekend and hope that will do the trick.

Hope you do eventually try castor oil. doesn’t a keratin treatment change your hair pattern? would that not cause more dryness? hope it all goes well for your sake ☺️

@@CoilyDiaries the keratin I'm doing is an at home one that doesn't have any formaldehyde. It's not as strong as the one hairdressers use so won't give me as extreme results, but I'm mostly doing it just to make my hair more manageable. So far everyone I've seen who's used it has had their curls remain, so that's what I'm anticipating. I think the damage people get is from using too high a heat with them. They want the straightest possible look so use 450 for like 6 passes! It's not the keratin but the application method in that case, that's damaging the curls. I shall see though.

Do you have another alternative for an humectant spray other than glycerine? I've noticed its leaves my hair quite dry when i use it as a spray (i usually mix 1tbs glycerine to 1cup of water)

I have oily scalp but my hair actually dries fast from washing to often. My scalp loves wash days but my hair does not. I need a very good cleanser without stripping my hair.
